I have bought plenty of cheap drones and every time not long after having it something would happen and the cheap drone companies don't offer parts or repairs, I bit the bullet and bought one of the nicer high end under 249 gram DJI 4 pro and I love it. I was able to purchase a 2 year protection plan for $80 from DJI when I was setting it up. It covers 2 flyaways if you loose your drone but is $200 something for a replacement but if something goes wrong and you crash it or any other failure where you have your drone to send in the replacement cost is only $70 and it covers more than 2 repair replacements. The video it records is breathtaking when you use the right light filter. I like that you can lock it on to something or someone and have it follow them without you having to control it, my grandchildren love trying to run from it and all I do is adjust the camera up or down and zoom in and out. It was very easy to plug up a wireless microphone receiver to the usbc plug and be able to get audio from the ground so I don't have to remember everything I would want to say about something and do a voice over in editing. The omni directional avoidance works really good but only when there is good light and it's not small wires or small tree limbs with no leaves. They just recently released a update so if you are flying close to something close that the obstacle avoidance doesn't pick up you can have it show what the avoidance cameras would see and can scan through all of them but it's in black and white and the video screen it shows it on is small and where the map would normally be. I have also purchased the longer flight pack you can get for it, the 249 gram batteries last on average of 20 to 25 minutes depending on how windy it is, the heavier battery packs let you fly for 45 to 50 minutes depending on the wind but you have to register your drone with the faa to do that and get a ID number and attach your registration number on the drone somewhere and have to send in with permission for the flight plan your going to fly, the FAA gets back to you in minutes and let's you know if your flight plan is good or if there is any restrictions you need to follow. With the longer flight batteries the drone recognizes it's over the 249 gram limit and sends out your drone information for the FAA to be able to track it, it doesn't do that with the lighter battery's. I'm already thinking of getting a bigger DJI drone. I love the ability to have it follow you, I use that when I take my kids and grandchildren out on our pontoon boat and I'm able to get stunning video of them being pulled on a tube behind the boat and use it when I'm fishing to see fish ahead of us so we know where to target and then great video of pulling in a nice fish onto the boat.
