Fantastic FitBug!
I was bought one of these clever little devices for Christmas and I have to say it's absolutley brilliant!! It was so easy to set up, I just had to download the app and it now tracks my steps and monitors my sleep etc. and remits the data seamlessly to my smartphone and tablet by bluetooth. There are many higher cost devices on the market which largely do the same thing, so in terms of value for money FitBug rates very highly for me. In my opinion, FitBugs USP is the 3 x main differentiators. Firstly, it does not need to be regularly re-charged as many devices do and, secondly, it is much more discrete because you can just put the tiny little orb in your pocket or on your belt (which is great whilst at work) rather than having to wear an additional 'watch like' instrument on your wrist - however, it can be worn on the wrist too should you wish, which is especially useful at night for monitoring sleep. Finally, it can also be linked with the "Kiqplan" app, a weight loss and fitness training and coaching tool which is unique to Fitbug!Overall, having a FitBug is a great tool for tracking activity as a means of improving overall fitness and ultimately weight loss. I find knowing how active I've been (or not as the case may be!) really useful as I often find myself doing extra steps just to get my stats up!!Don't hesitate, give it a go.

Let down by a completely useless app
I'm not likely to write negative reviews. But I feel I need to warn others about this product. It simply does not work. I wasn't even able to try the device itself as I simply could not get it to connect to the dedicated Android app! The app is just so bad. It's slow to respond, freezes or crashes often. Worst of all I couldn't even get started by pairing the device to it. And I do have a compatible BT4 smartphone (Moto G) and I am a tech savvy person. Uninstalling the whole thing and resetting the phone and bt settings all did nothing to make this Fitbug Orb work. I ended up going for Fitbit Flex instead, and that works without a single hiccup.I really wanted to like the Fitbug. I like the option to use the device with bracelet and belt clip. And the fact that you don't have to charge it like the Fitbit. Compared to Fitbit Flex, the bracelet fitted with the ORB is it more bulky and a little heavier. But this could be easily forgiven if it worked.Complete waste of time. Only glad I ordered from Amazon for hassle free return.

Disappointing with a flaky app
Use this with an iPad - it is neat and very easy to wear - I wear mine tucked in my top. The wrist band is an irritation as the Orb is a blank unit. Measurements seem to be relatively accurate, but is a very expensive step counter. I do find the stats fairly interesting and a good record of improvement....... Bluetooth connection sometimes takes three or four attempts to link to iPad and I do find that irritating and also, when you open various pages in the app it does crash a bit too often. All in all not a bad piece of kit, was easy to set up and pair but just those irritations. Sometimes wish I'd bought the Air.

A great product from a great British company!
This is an incredibly simple yet effective gadget. It is easy to setup with the app (in my case on an Iphone 5s). In the box are several solutions to allow you to wear the 'orb'. I have opted for the belt clip. This allows you to wear the orb and you soon forget that it is there. It tracks your movement and tells you your steps, calorie use etc. The app allows you to look back over past days to see how you've got on, set goals etc. In my opinion, a great gadget for seeing how much activity you do and to keep a record of it. It also can monitor your sleep which is useful. Battery life is good and it uses a round button battery which means no recharging. You can buy these batteries very cheaply on-line (for about 10 - 15p each if you buy a few at a time). To operate the various functions of the orb, you press the button on the front of it. I thought that this would be confusing, but the flashing coloured LEDs indicate what it is doing, so it is infact very simple. It has been well thought out and designed. Fitbug are a British company which adds to the appeal. Great value for under £50.

Good at first, now useless.
Bought it to link it to my Vitality account.I really liked it at first, especially because I got it on offer, at a considerably low price, and I loved the fact that I could hide it.Unfortunately, now the app has changed and doesn't sync properly, has a lot of issues and I have lost quite a few Vitalty points as a result. It is now basically useless and can't be synced more than once a day and you can't sync your Orb for the previous days if you've forgotten to do it (although Orb does keep data in its memory for quite a few days!!).Unfortunately, I now have to buy another activity tracker, hence why I gave this two stars. Great concept, but very disappointing.

Works well. Poor customer service.
Works really well, but setting up the app was a bit fussy at first. I did have some queries, which I emailed to the FitBug people, but they totally ignored me and have still not replied. Luckily, I knew someone who had one, so I was able to get some help. It is a simple design and comes with two ways to wear it. As a watch, which I found too bulky for my wrist, or in a clip that attaches to your belt or pocket. Beware, though, I did lose mine while walking (it was on the clip) so the clip may not be the most safe way to wear it. I just put my new one in my front pocket. I did find the "continuous streaming" mode didn't work and I have to press the button for it to send information to my phone. I don't mind, though, because it means the battery will last longer. It takes a small battery similar to the ones in car key rings, which is not rechargeable, but seems to be lasting quite a long time (the box says 6 months). Overall quite pleased, but I dropped a star for the poor customer service.
