DIFFERENT FROM GROZA !!!
I have the vinyl of this but I don't see it listed on Amazon; it's an euro import. Unlike the ice-cold, mid-tempo predecessor, ¨Groza¨ , this lp is faster-paced and urgent, with changes to the mixing approach. It's can still be categorized within the ¨depressive BM¨ department, only this one sounds passionate and desperate, with a different, not-so-jagged guitar tone, more guitar interplay instead of the usual rhythmic on the left channel and soloing on the right, and beefierdrums and bass, esp the abundant toms and some blast beats interspersed here and there for good measure that were absent on Groza. FFS I had to disengage my subwoofer completely for the whole duration of side 2, which is very unusual. Hell of a good mix !!OAN I had to crank this one up like no other lp in my collection; it's recorded with such good dynamics it reminds recordings of the good all times when they didn't brickwall everything to make it louder.Weird, because the DR database lists this CD at 6, which is no good, so glad I got this on vinyl. So which one to get, Groza or this one ? Easy answer; ¨Exercises In Futility¨ That's their cowning achievement and a way better (5 stars) album. The other 2 drag a little on some track, but are still worth owning.
