Other dough hooks may look lie this one, but this one is different. The handle can easily go into the dishwasher, and there is NO OPENING ANYWHERE for dough to get stuck into!The size is good as well. Most other models are smaller, as a man, I appreciate this one.

Love this whiskI do a lot of cooking and baking. This is perfect for brownie batter, cake batter, biscuit dough, etc.Sturdy, seems to be holding up really well.

Had to apply epoxy at the open seam where the head attached to the handle otherwise it would fill with dough & was impossible to clean properly. Now it’s perfect.

So, will a spatula do what this tool does? Yes, but this Dutch whisk really does make mixing easier for dough, cakes and muffins, biscuits, etc. I have been baking for decades and never thought about needing one of these tools. Glad I bought it on a whim. I also like that the metal part attached to the non-slip handle is 'sealed' to have no food residue left behind in that area after cleaning. You will understand if you look at the other cheap tools being offered. This was not a necessity but so glad I did buy it.

I haven't used it yet but it looks like it will do the job.
