Nespresso Capsules - Espresso Pods for your Nespresso Machine LIMITED EDITION SAMPLER, Nespresso Original Coffee Pods with Cuban, Colombian & Costa Rican Blends (60 Capsules)

I have had my Nespresso Pixie since August 2016 and it is used daily, multiple times. I have always used Nespresso brand capsules, but was looking for a cheaper alternative since I consume a lot of pods. I purchased 6 sleeves of the Cafe Joe pods based on the positive customer reviews. While I have no complaints whatsoever about the quality of the coffee, my problem is with the pod packaging. It appears that my Pixie machine does not reliably perforate the foil, and possibly the plastic colored portion. Thus about half the time when using these pods, rather than all the liquid pouring out into my cup, it pours out internally into the catch basin of the Pixie, which creates a mess and wastes the pod. Thus, I'm not really saving any money as it can take 2 pods, plus my added annoyance to reliably get one cup. I have found that I need to use a fork to perforate the foil as shown in the attached picture in order to get a more reliable cup of espresso -- but this just seems silly since I never have to do this with Nespresso brand pods. I won't be buying the Cafe Joe pods again.UPDATE:Cafe Joe contacted me directly and is sending me some new capsules, believing that there could be something defective with the ones I received. I’m seriously impressed by the customer service and upping my review from 1 to 4 stars.

Only giving three stars for the flavor, which is okay. Doesn’t come near the real Nespresso brand capsules. The terrible thing about these knock off pods (not just this brand) is that they damage your machine pump system because they cause too much pressure backup. You can see this even when it’s trying to pump the fluid through the capsule because it drips really slowly instead of having a nice flow when using the real capsules. If you don’t want to damage your machine, I recommend staying away.

Originally I was going to give this an extra star. However, I just received my second order of these and several of the capsules were punctured or unsealed. This lowers the savings over Nespresso capsules. The coffee is good. I would not say it is as good or reliable as Nespresso. Joe's coffee is better than Bestpresso. The Capsules work better than any of the competitors but not quite as good as Nespresso capsules.Too bad about their QC problems. If Joe could get their production right, they would have a good product.

I did not receive the ones that I specifically ordered. I wanted the limited edition sampler which was supposed to contain Columbia, Cuba & Costa Rica. What I received instead was a regular sampler with a lot of other flavors but none of the limited edition flavors. :( The coffee that we did receive is tasty. One thing to note is that these capsules are plastic - which is also a bummer because the reason I use Nespresso is that they are not packed in plastic.

I purchased the South American/Caribbean pack for the stronger yet flavorful espresso. Which I wasn't disappointed. The flavor was excellent. Getting the espresso out of the pods was the challenge. The pods wouldn't perforate and I had to put them in my Nespresso machine several times a piece. Sometimes it would pump out a half oz., sometimes nothing, but never the correct amount. I usually go with Joe for my espresso capsules now, but the capsules were almost too much of a hassle.

The coffee itself is very good. However, the pods I purchased are clearly defective. Another review notes the same problem, however I only discovered this after my purchase. The majority of the coffee drains into the drip pan of the Nespresso machine rather than into the cup. This is true with three different varieties of pods (Costa Rican, Cuban and Colombian). The pods fail in the same manner in my manual Wacoco machine. There does not appear to be any lasting damage to my machines - they still make coffee with other compatible pods without difficulty. To their credit, the manufacturer contacted me immediately after I provided feedback about the problem and offered full replacement of the product, but more importantly reported that the problem was rare and that their manufacturing process had been fixed and that as of July 2019 all product would use the improved pods.

I have been looking for a while for a viable alternative to the expensive Nespresso capsules. I like coffee and am rather picky about its taste. So, after reading the reviews concerning this coffee brand, I decided to try it. After all, who wants to pay a fortune for coffee if they can purchase a delicious substitute. After trying several other Nespresso substitutes, this one pleasantly surprised me. The coffee is tasty - at least as good as the original Nespresso capsules, if not better. The coffee tastes rich and creamy - with my favorite being Costa Rica. I have not had any issues with spills, water leaks, burned tasting coffee, or misfitting capsules. The capsules fit and the coffee comes out tasting delicious. Wonderful product.

I was looking forward to trying the coffee and made my first cup as soon as I opened the box. When I used the pod with my Nespresso Pixie the water would not stop at the pre-set volume amount. It kept filling the cup and I had top stop it manually. These pods are not fully compatible with Nespresso. The taste is pretty good, though! Overall, I would not recommend unless they fix this compatibility issue.
