This book is brilliantly written. While on tour I had some vocal troubles (fatigue, inconsistency of tone, etc.) and having read some of David Jones articles online knew that he may be able to help. This book revolutionized the way I sing and its now my touring bible! My voice sounds better than ever, feels better than ever and I wholly believe this book is a big reason as to why.I'm also not a classical singer at all- I sing mostly musical theatre and Pop/ Rock repertoire however that didn't matter at all. Good vocal technique is good vocal technique regardless of style. Great investment for any singer who wants to get more out of their voice and take it to the next level.Also, huge thank you to David Jones for this book!

David Jones has done a tremendous job of covering every aspect of classical singing. Not only does he talk about the various problems that singers may encounter, but he has a myriad of suggestions, all clearly stated, of how to fix things. BRAVO, BRAVISSIMO!

As soon as I opened the book and perused a few pages at random, I learned two important "mental images" that really helped me a lot. After reading chapters 2 and 3 on breath and the open throat, I learned a few more.And now that I am well into the book, I can recommend it highly. He explains everything in great detail, and it works!I've read many books on vocal technique, this is one of the best! Well worth the price.

David L. Jones can TEACH! And he can teach teachers! He inspires, cajoles, and informs in the most direct and encouraging ways. Any voice teacher can benefit from the insights in this book. I am grateful for what I have gained from his approach to teaching voice.

I have a lot of books about singing on my library shelves, but this one hits the mark. With straightforward explanations and exercises to achieve results, this book will assure the future of beautiful singing continues.

I could go on for pages about how amazing this book is. You just need to buy it and see for yourself. I promise you won’t be disappointed. If I had to highlight one feature of this text (Although there are many amazing ones), it would be the amount of exercises that come in this text. I’ve has it for months and I haven’t been able to try them all. The explanation is clear and Easy to understand, while being thorough in the process of performing the exercise and what it will help you achieve. Again, just buy it. Seriously.

This is by far the best book I have read on classical voice training. It shares an abundant wealth of information from a truly gifted voice teacher and master in his field. It is clear and carefully explained. Bravo Maestro Jones.

Clear and well presented. An encyclopedia of what goes into making beautiful singing.

No one can doubt Mr Jones's credentials as a teacher of significant repute. This is a fascinating book full of vocal wisdom and a welcome addition to the singing teaching corpus. I'm sure it will sell well in the pedagogic and singers community. However, the style is dull, conversational and rambling. There is much repetition of information from chapter to chapter. Also the author strives too hard for self-justifation of opinion by repetition of a few (albeit impressive) sources . Some judicious editing would have been an idea to make the book cohesive and readable. The book has the feel of an "on demand print" - cheap paper, and terrible textual layout. There is no index which is frustrating and a lazy omission. Another book is promised. I hope more care over editing and production values will be in evidence for that volume as clearly there will be a market for it.

A good and sound book but missing a comprehensive if not basic index at the back other than a table of contents at the front so very difficult to negotiate!

If you want to learn how to sing with your most authentic, therefore beautiful voice, in a safe way that will care for your instrument throughout your life, this technique and book are a must.

Clear, well organized, and extremely useful information. This book will be one of my singing technique bibles for years to come. Thank you David Jones!
