Fast shipping, good quality, not sure what everything does.
Extremely fast shipping. I had a project that I was going to do in a month. So I ordered this part ahead of the others as it comes directly from China. It showed up at my house two days later. Even Amazon normally takes 3 days. So I am extremely impressed with shipping time on it.I have the 50A 600W version. I am a bit skeptical of the size of the wires. For 50Amps I would have expected them to be a few gauges larger. That aside without opening the converter it appears to be very good quality. The output has been a solid 12-12.5v from a power source that ranges from 14v-28v depending on what is happening. One thing that has had me stumped is the yellow input wire that is labeled Key Ignition. Near as I can tell all it does is turn on the fan. I have power no mater if I have that wired in or not. I contacted the manufacture for a manual and they sent me an updated one.(Very quick to reply and good English) The new manual did not provide any insights as to what it does either. Now that I have my project up and working and have tested it I have asked about this in particular and will likely have a reply soon.Oh and one other thing, the input voltage range has been labeled a lot of different things depending on what you read on this site or the different manuals. I have yet to have it not work on the lower voltage end of things so that end appears solid. I am kind of scared to go over about 30volts on the high end though as I have seen 3 different numbers for what the high voltage range may be.Overall for what I am doing very happy.

Died after a few minutes
First of all, the leads on this are very short to work with. ~5 inches. Assuming you are going to integrate it into some sort of battery system, that doesn't provide much working room with out soldering on your own leads.Mine worked initially and showed 12.5v output. But when I went to test everything with the power inverter the LED went out and the voltage dropped to 0. The fans still run. I checked all the wire connections and the continuity tester says they are good, but I've basically wasted $50 on this. I'd recommend going a different route.

This did step down 24 V to ~12 V DC, but unfortunately it exceeded the ATX 12 V PSU power supply specifications so I had to return it. As far as I know, this would work fine for any other application which doesn't have such strict voltage regulation requirements.

Works well. ~3W idle draw due to fan.
The power supply seems to perform as advertised. My only significant concern is that the fan is always on, making the idle draw around 3W ([email protected]). I would be happier if the fan was on a thermal sensor and only came on when necessary, to keep the idle draw down.

I use this to run a 12volt USB plug off my 24 volt battery system. Works great for charging cell phones without having to run an inverter.
