Lovely
I do believe these saved my plants' lives when I was away for six days over the holiday. My mom did go to water my plants, but only once in the middle, and there was little rain during that time. My plants looked pretty limp and almost crispy when I got back, but they were not dead and perked right up the next day. I got these for the express purpose of care during my vacation, and they arrived right before I left – thankfully! ...Because I also bought a bunch of those Plant Nanny ceramic stakes, but found out at the last minute that they do not fit standard water bottles. These globes, on the other hand, you don't have to worry about anything except how you fill them and how you stick them in. There is a little bit of an art to doing that – you can't put them in soil that is too loose (or it will drain in half an hour), but if you put them in very packed soil or there is a blockage like a stone, it may not drain at all. How fast it drains depends on the angle you stake it in and the moisture/type of soil you use. In a loose, dried out mix, the globes will drain very quickly. If you water your plants often on top of using them, these can last weeks. In my case, it was a drought and hardly rained in the week that I was gone – the plants were definitely not looking good when I returned, and every globe had emptied except one that I staked in fully vertical and apparently got a little clogged. So, I think you should also have somebody else drop by and check in on plants just in case, if you are going to be gone for more than a week during the hot summer. That being said, I still believe that the plants would've died without these – because I cannot get someone to check them every day. So I do believe they are worthwhile. They are also works of art and beautiful.

Your average watering globes
I purchased these watering globes to use with my poinsettia, because absolutely cannot have dry soil or they will begin to loose leaves. I hope these globes will keep soils at the correct conditions. The color added to the glass makes them decorative and adds to the appearance of the planter. As visible in the attached pictures, the green globe is not nearly as green as the one in the pictures provided by the seller. I would say the globe I received teal rather than green. While not a deal breaker, it was a slight disappointment. On the other hand the red is gorgeous and is my favorite of the group. The globes hold about 325mL (11 fl oz) a little less than the advertised "15-20 oz of water" in the product description section. However, I believe these watering globes are hand blown glass which would account for the size and color variations from globe to globe. As for filling the globes, some reviewers have reported difficulty with filling the globes. There is a trick to filling them. The long necks of globes are very narrow leaving only a small hole through which to fill them. In order to fill them you need a small stream of water that is about the same size as the hole in the neck. In oder to fill the globe air must be allowed to escape the globe as water enters. If you try to fill the gloves with a large stream of water air cannot easily escape and it takes an extremely long time to fill.Overall these globes are comparable to any other, they have nothing which differentiates them from competitors' watering globes. I would recommend these globes.

These are great and very helpful to keeping my plants alive
These are great and very helpful to keeping my plants alive. Easy to fill up and aesthetically pleasing in the planters.I would, however, like to mention that one should be very careful to take note of the temperature while you're on vacation using these. My basil plants were not very big at the time and they still drank an entire globe in one day when the temps were in the 80s. My foot tall pepper plants took about a day and a half to go through the globe. Even with my super thirsty plants these globes were useful because they allowed my roommates to visually see when the plants needed more water. My roommates wouldn't have helped with the plants if they couldn't see how much water they needed. (They have a tendency to let plants die.) These water globes gave them more of a direct instruction on when to water the plants and allowed non-green thumb people to feel assured of the survival of the plants. All in all I'd say this is a pretty great product but please make sure to do a test run with your plants to see how much water they use before you go on your travels.

The globes are pretty and work somewhat as described
The globes are pretty and work somewhat as described. But there is no consistency. One may drain quickly and another not drain at all. I tried switching them around to see if it was just the soil or the angle, No doubt those factors contribute but there are definitely differences in the functioning of the globes. I did not find them to be particularly hard to fill as some reviewers have described. They are glass and somewhat thin so you have to be a little careful. I broke one. But I don't think they are overly fragile, I just wasn't being careful.

Easy to fill and use, looks beautiful in plants
They are super fun and very pretty inside my plants! I just started using them so I don’t know how long in between fills it will be yet but I have them in my large Aloe, my Easter Lilies and one of my Orchids to see how the plants like this type of watering. I still have one more globe to use but have to decide which plant gets it 😂 the only reason I didn’t give them I 5 on the sturdy is they are made of glass abs feel kinda fragile, but I’m not gonna test that 🤣

Great price for beautiful waterers
These are lovely, and the price is excellent. Purchased 2 sets, as I wanted all blue in the kitchen herb plants. Then used the other colors in potted plants outside. Lovely hand-blown glass globes that would cost more for one directly from a glass blower than for the set of four here. They work well in the herb garden, having to be refilled every two to four days, depending on size of the pot and plant. They do get a lot of dirt in the stems, which has to be washed out to refill, but it's not a problem. Not sure what "sturdiness" is one of the requested ratings. They are glass, so don't drop them, or pull too hard if they get left out in the sun empty for months in a dried up planter. Very happy with this purchase.
