Bought as replacement to 555
My Logitech Harmony 555 packed in after a couple of years (expensive remote to stop working after such a short time) because the orange LCD screen it has basically ended up staying blank while the buttons were working. The upgrade firmware option didn't solve the problem. So I was a bit wary of getting another one with LCD screen but having read reviews and specification I decided to go for this 600 model because the price to function ratio seems better value than the previous one I had. Having received it I can say I am happy with the purchase so far, a big bonus being that the software for Logitech all in one remotes is the same and it is fairly straightforward to go on and just use the add new/replacement remote feature of the software with the memorised settings already on my computer. After about 5 minutes it was done. I tested it and barring a couple of personalised controls the majority of the functions transferred over successfully. So I just spent another 20 minutes or so adding the personalised features and it's all been working fine since. There are actually a few more useful buttons on the 600 model compared to the 555 and it feels less flimsy. My only gripe is that the OK/Select button is very small and people with bigger than average thumbs might find it a bit fiddly and end up pressing the surrounding up/down/left/right buttons if they're not careful. It's happened to me a couple of times before I got used to it and I have average sized hands.

Has some good qualities, but look elsewhere if you want to use it out of the box
A decent, if complex remote control. It doesn't take very long to set the basics up, but it can take hours to fine tune missing keys, and particularly to set it up to run activities, where mulitiple devices are being used at the same time. The device is flexible, but doesn't particularly suit our Panasonic TV that won't accept direct AV channel selection, rather it has to go through a list. If devices don't trigger the correct channel, a bit of fiddling needs to be done to exit the activity, select the device, then select the channel from the list, then return to the activity.Software to set up the remote control is no longer downloadable, so all tweaking needs to be done online. This can be a very useful controller across a maximum of 5 devices, but it can take A LOT of time to smooth out the rough spots. Buy with caution. Avoid if you find computer software/set up frustrating or challenging.

Logitech 600
The scurge of the modern living room these days, remote controls. I saw the review for the Logitech device and was a bit skeptical but with my ever mounting appliance list I thought I'd give it a go. Set up is very straight forward with Logitech's GUI system, quite intuitive even for the 'idiot'. I have an Onkyo Amp, Panny Plasma, WD live tv, LG Blue ray and Sky HD. I thought well there is no way this lot is going to work, but amazingly it does! It is very 'wife' or 'girlfriend' friendly as now you can have all your boyz toys in the room and hand them the remote and say 'press watch TV luv' its easy!!The only thing to remember is that the aforesaid daunted wife/girlfriend must be told to keep pointing the logitech at the devices until everything comes on, it can take 3-4 seconds for it to finish its cycle of selecting the right channels and so on. To stop the usual call out for 'help the tv is not working again', just grind it into them to keep pointing the remote at the stuff to turn it on correctly:-)Thumbs up logitech great product highly recommended.

Worth every penny
This is a great piece of kit. My setup is a Epson Projector, Sony TV, Denon AV receiver and a Cisco UPC box. Setup is very simple, nicely explained and you'll be ready to go in no time. The "Watch TV" function is great also, one button and it turns on what you need to what channels you need and then sets the remote buttons to control what ever you want, i.e your volume buttons control the AV receiver while your Channel buttons change the channel on the Cable box and if you like the Menu button brings up the TV menu. And you can set loads of those also, i currently have "Watch TV" (TV on + UPC on) "Watch Movie" (TV on + UPC on + AV on) "Watch Projector" (Epson on + UPC on + AV on) "Play PlayStation" (Epson on + AV on) "Play Wii TV" (TV on + Denon on) and "Play Wii Projector" (Epson on). All the buttons can be customized for each activity.A screen is needed for there types of remote in my opinion. Allowing you too add all the buttons you like to a list. My projector has lots of none standard buttons (Pattern, Split, HDMI link and so on) but it is no problem because all of these commands can sit nicely in the list on the screen ready for use.It is also very easy to repair a signal, the remote has a IR receiver on the bottom. Just use your old remote to give the Logitech the correct reference then it will replicate it nicely. I'm sure that you could actually set up a none supported device this way also, just select a similar supported device to the one you want to set up then reprogram the buttons using this method to control anything you want. Its a bit more effort but simple enough if you give it a go. The only problem may come if you are trying to set up a none supported device without the original controller. All in all a really nice device, very easy to set up and use. Perfect for my setup and i would recommend it to anyone who feels they have too many remotes laying around.
