The blade guide allows even sharpening on the blade edge. It also keeps the edge at the right angle. It is easy to attach.

Now I know what people are complaining about. This works on my cleaver and carving knife, but anything narrower than 5" gives it nothing to rest against. Have to find something else for my smaller knives.

I like how it keeps the angle. Easy to use. I have a Gerber Easy drawl life with 3” blade. It’s too long so I had to cut it down. Doesn’t get tip very well. Other than that it works.

Just as expected

I use it for our chef's knife, it fits fine. It did not scratch our knife. It also however, failed to stay put. With every pass on the whetstones, it would flop and change angles as the thickness of the device was larger than the thickness of my knife.In the end, I could not maintain a constant angle which is critical in sharpening. I wasn't doing too well with the whetstone angle and therefore purchased this to help. In the end, the results were worse than my manual sharpening.

Very simple easy to use. Helps to keep the perfect angle to sharpen your knives. Happy with my purchase.

I did not like the sharpener, it doesn't accommodate for the curve in the blades. There were no instructions that were clear. I'm very open to a tutorial or video instruction. I'm happy to be wrong.

Works well on large knife.
