Seals the Deal: A Reliable Vacuum Chamber That Stands Up to Dust and Delivers
**Draft Review:**I've been using the Orion Motor Tech 3-Gallon Vacuum Chamber with the included 3.5 cfm pump for a few weeks now, and I'm impressed with how reliable it is—even in the dusty chaos of my woodshop. Most of the time, it seals right up and pulls a vacuum without a hitch. On those rare occasions where it doesn't, a quick wipe of the lid's edge with a damp cloth puts it back in business. The instructions claim all bubbles should be gone in about ten minutes, but I’m still seeing a few stubborn stragglers in my epoxy resin. Oddly enough, once I kill the vacuum and open the air valve, the last few bubbles vanish. I’m new to epoxy work, though, so I’m holding off on any deductions—it might be more about my technique than the tool’s performance.A few extra points that might be worth mentioning if you’re on the fence: The pump is relatively quiet for its size (just don't expect whisper-level hush), the gauge is easy to read, and the chamber’s acrylic lid is thick and clear, giving you a good view of what’s happening inside. The construction feels solid and is holding up well, even with constant exposure to dust and frequent cleaning. Setting up was straightforward, and the included instructions are decent—something that’s often overlooked in equipment like this. All in all, for a vacuum-chamber rookie like me, this kit does what it promises and seems built to last. If you're considering it for resin casting, degassing silicone, or other similar projects, it's a solid investment.

Pump is great, lid won't seal to provided chamber.
The media could not be loaded. Bought this for my wife and I to use for degassing resin, plaster, silicone and for wood stabilizing. The pump works fantastic, if I plug the gauge with my finger it hits 1 bar in about 2 seconds. Now when I put the lid on the stainless stock pot they ship this with, whole different story. The pot is out of round at the top and bottom the rim and base are not flat. If that doesnt make sense, think of it this way. The pot actually rocks on a flat surface and the (slightly crappy) pictures show how on at least two large sections of the rim the lid is so far off that you can see inside the pot. it rocks on the bottomI have to put far too much weight for the chamber to seal, and the second I stop pushing down on the lid? Total loss of vacuum. Hoping if I contact their customer support they can make this right. Otherwise I have to go find a new stainless steel stock pot as I don't have one this size in my home. As usual, I will update my review if/when anything changes.

Works well, sturdy.
Had to return first one, gauge oil had come out. Replacement sent same day and refund issued when return was received. Excellent customer service. New one works exactly as it should. Good size chamber. Gauge seems accurate. Pump works quickly, but as noisy as you'd expect. Lid is very sturdy with good silicone seal. Excellent value

Clean your seal!!
Received this yesterday got it setup last night and couldn't get a vacuum. Checked for suction directly from the hose and had good suction. Cleaned my seal with rubbing alcohol added a little down pressure and was good to go. One the pump get warm I noticed diminished suction so I recommend getting it to the max and closeing valves and turning the pump off.

A good deal of bang for the buck.
Very good vacuum pot. Simple assembly, everything provided for a quick and trouble free setup. The 5 gallon pot is great for larger items as well as small ones too.Stainless steel offers a good pain free clean up of any accidental spills and overflows. The vacuum pump itself is quite quiet compared to oilless motors. Well worth the money.

Big disappointment
I have been wanting this thing for like 6-8 months. My husband bought it for me for Christmas and I was so excited! Got it all hooked up and was disappointed so much! It will not get the pressure down enough to suck the bubbles out of my resin! As low as I can get it is -0.7! I have tried everything and it will not work!!

EDIT: Company Made it Right
The metal pot that came with my original kit was defective. No matter what I did, it would not create a vacuum. I reached out to Orion and they made it right!!I am now very, very happy! I use this is degas resin and it saves me so much hassle when it comes to bubbles and voids forming. I would say that this is essential equipment if you are serious about making dice. Now that I have a good pot, it reaches the necessary vacuum pressure within seconds. I just shut off the pump and walk away for 5-7 minutes. Make sure you put a stir stick in the container to make sure that the bubbles don't ever 'boil over' and make the resin spill. Also, release the pressure back into the pot very slowly to avoid the resin from splashing up out of the container.Overall, I am super happy with the product and ecstatic with the customer service I received.Original Review: The pump sucks air, but the pot does not ever build up a vacuum. The instructions are quite poor.

vaccum pot is not true and won't seal
The 5-gallon vacuum pot is not true and will not seal. The pump works fine. The problem is the pot is not true, when I set the pot upside down it rocks and does not sit flat. I tried to contact the seller but good luck there.Amazon on the other hand, was stellar, they got busy and ordered a new complete unit. 5 stars to amazon.I don't understand any company that doesn't have even a basic quality assurance to verify that is seals.
