I'm not sure I've read a more practical, yet deep and rich work on the inner life. Knight gives inspiration, example, and clarity on what it means to be alone with God. A must read for any child of God.

Written in 1906 and so profoundly relevant and spiritually practical. Every chapter is a worthy read filled with easily understood depth. The author spurs and inspires the development of a a living and substantial prayer life. Highly recommended reading. One of my favorites!

A tremendous work on the life found in private prayer with God.This is an incredibly helpful study on the importance of cultivating time with God.

This book is about a subject with which many, if not most, christians are unfamiliar: intimacy with God. If that is something you desire, this book is for you.

I purchased this book a few years ago at a rummage sale and it sat around my place for awhile, I have since read thru the book 2 or 3 times and have come away each time realizing how important it is to develop my spiritual life and spending quiet time with God each day, I really just like how it reaffirms that simplistic basics of being alone with God and shutting out all the distractions of the world renews my life and gives me the strength and peace to live in this world.
