50 PERFECT CHANNELS YET ONLY AFTER A LONG PATIENT CAREFUL INVESTIGATION OF THE PROBLEMS
I LIVE CLOSE to the transmitters in BOSTON AND HAVE 50 PERFECT CHANNELS BUT ONLY AFTER A CAREFUL INVESTIGATION to SOLVE THE MANY PROBLEMS. I will share the solutions with you. Led lightbulbs are strong emitters of radio interference and vary depending upon brand. If you place the antenna within 10 feet of a lamp you've invited interference. If you aren't given a choice shut the lamp off as I do when you watch TV. Give up watching as you turn the microwave for that interference can't be solved. I am a senior electronic engineer with experience in indoor radio propagation. I expected issues. What you need to understand is that you may move your antenna a foot in any direction from what you think Is good and make turn reception horrible. And move another 1 foot in any direction and make it much worse or instead superlative. The antenna cable is about 20 feet long. Think of your room as 20 places to the right of the TV that you need to test whether they are good locations to place the antenna or whether they might be bad and 20 more places to the left of the TV you need to test the same way. Back far away from the antenna, each place you test for your body in proximity to it may alter the result. But don't forget the 20 places behind the TV and 20 places to the front. I tested the entire room. Results were bizarre everywhere. The number of channels I received went from a high of 50 down to a low of 40 forty. And not even that meant they were watchable. Some had frequent dropouts and noise. I added an LTE 4G, 5G interference filter, and a ferrite core noise suppressor. Those results were of negligible value in comparison with placing the antenna in the best location. So find the best place and put your energy in that search. Do your work slowly and methodically and even if you are not as lucky as I am living close to the transmitters you will get the best performance you can.

Really quite average
I have had an HDTV antenna for a number of years for use when other sources are unavailable (during hurricanes for example). It works very well but is somewhat large and ugly atop my entertainment center. It has a pair of rabbit ears in addition to a directional bar sticking out front. I bought this antenna because it promised equivalent, perhaps even better, reception in a much more streamlined and compact form. Big mistake! This antenna is at best average. Placed in the same location as my existing antenna, rescanning found only 35 channels. My existing antenna picks up 76 channels... more than twice as many. Not that I have any interest in many of the extra channels (they include things like QVC and religious channels which are of little use during a storm), but the channels they both get come in much better on my old antenna. In fact, a local channel with a tower only about a dozen miles away is full HD on the old antenna but pixellated on the new one regardless of the near-far booster setting.I suspect that all the high ratings from other reviewers are from people who are trying their first antenna (coming from cable perhaps) and have no experience with what a top quality (even though ugly) antenna can do. Or maybe they remember the days of old rabbit ears where someone had to stand beside the TV holding one of the antenna arms just to get a picture. That doesn't apply to digital TV broadcasts, but there are obvious differences in antenna quality and cability even now.

Works great
I live on an upper floor of a tall building, with several broadcast antennas within 40 miles, so I am in a perfect location for a device like this. With this antenna I am able to pick up 68 channels, including all of the primary networks and local channels. Many are just shopping channels. Very sharp image. I am very satisfied. It was easy to set up. It is sensitive to location, so you have to try different spots, and always rescan after moving it, even if you only move it an inch.

Average Antenna
I ordered this antenna because we needed an upgrade. I refuse to pay for cable, and we don't watch a ton of TV anyway. I like cartoons on in the morning, and before bedtime. Other than that, the TV is only on for background noise. We recently moved to a new house, and our cell service is better than before, but we weren't getting the channel for cartoons, which means I burned through my Hotspot quickly streaming more Netflix than normal.I read the reviews for this antenna and booster combo, which all seemed promising. I got it quickly. However, I get no better signal than when using my old antenna. The channels that do come in are no different, but MAYBE display slightly clearer. I'm definitely disappointed.

Bye Bye Comcast/Xfinity
We used to pay $10 a month for a Comcast/Xfinity cable box for basic channels. Come to find out that their box was just an overpriced antenna. I plugged this in, let it upload the channel finder, and within 10 mins I had 58 channels. Granted these channels were like PBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, that all I needed. The junk channels like QVC were there as well, but hey I got the channels I wanted that Comcast had previously. I can watch NFL Games on this, along with Thursday night on Amazon. Good price point, purchased for $20. Saved $100 this year. I'd buy again.

Quality
Easy installation, fair reception when installed on interior wall. If this was used on a full time tv I would buy alternate item with stronger strength for reception.

I have a change of heart
At first I wanted to return this or just put it away. I really did put this little antenna down bad. Since then, I started testing a bit more and found sweet spots. The local channels that I would need if an emergency would happen and I would not have internet. Other channels are just as a bonus and would be fine. I could always delete the ones I don't want through my TV. In the end its not a flat antenna that may work better, this one blends in a bit more and does it's job fairly well. It did not fit my antenna port in the living room , but the bedroom TV is just bit the threads better, so odd? It's rather cheap looking but still looks good. Just keep the switch turned on high for the amp. I will not buy this one again because I need one for my living room TV. I will look for something else. Don't let the 400+ miles lead you into buying this one. It works OK and it looks modern and doesn't take up too much space.
