Absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this book. It will look good in any collection. However what is strange is there is no dust jacket. Ok, there is not a lot to cover just one word but surely that is my choice to remove it or not. Never mind. TITIAN. Not a lot to put on the front of a book is if, just boring.This is a wonderful book. Titian's skill in producing curly hair is staggering. His beautiful painting of Mary Magdalene is worth the price alone.Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New year to you all xxx

Good value

One of Phaidon`s production numbers, Peter Humfrey`s monograph has “serious art book” written all over it – a hardback, brushed silk cover with embossed gold lettering and no book-jacket; and indeed, it is a fine reference work to grace anyone's art library.It is well-illustrated with over 160 plates – the majority in colour – of Titian's paintings and comparative works by other artists.There are plenty of books available on Titian and at competitive prices; this is a scholarly, well-presented volume, perhaps a bit expensive, but a good book to have if it can be found for a reasonable price.
