First off, this is a superb restoration and the extras really capture the spirit of the time. The film is the usual French twaddle but you're only watching this for one reason. Bardot was never a talented actress but she had "something" - and she looks absolutely stunning.

It can feel a bit random - I’m looking at you weird singer who wasn’t singing segment - in places but it played all its cards well. A film about marriage, love, contempt, Hollywood, art, gods and man. Palance is great as this outside force that feels foreign to the film. Bardot is amazing.
