work of art
My four star rating has nothing to do with the quality and beauty of the knife itself, it's about me and me wondering if this is a practical e.d.c. knife as I had hoped it would be. It truly is a work of art and I find myself hesitant to use it in my everyday chores for fear of damaging the thing.I own numerous 'good' knives, most with some sort of hybrid plastic or metal handle, and as practical as these types of material are I wanted something of quality with good solid wood handles that would wear in the shape of my pocket show the nicks and gouges of my work, that sort of thing, and the Mcusta fits that bill.Like I said, it's more about me than the knife, I'm going to carry if for awhile and see if I feel comfortable using it to cut stuff up. My practical side tells me these Japanese craftsmen wouldn't make a folder that wasn't meant to be used as a cutting instrument. I don't just want to put it in my knife collection and take it out to stare at it a couple times a month. One last thing: this is one sharp blade. I thought 'Benchmade' and 'Kershaw' came razor sharp, this beats them both for razor edge. It also opens liquid smooth and locks secure, no blade movement at all when locked open. This is one quality folder at a quality folder price that I hope is meant to be used as a knife and not a display.
