I have used Redken hair cleansing cream for decades. It was called simply that, hair cleansing cream so long ago. Now they call it Maniac but it is the exact same stuff. I know this from its fragrant smell and mostly for the way my hair feels after using it. This shampoo is the only shampoo to have been able to completely clean my hair. Other brands tend to leave residues on hair which I can feel. The 33.8 oz bottle would last a family for a couple of months easily but because I leave my hair short and I am a blond person (blond hair is thin generally) this bottle could last me years. I only need a pea sized drop of shampoo to create the coverage I've come to expect. Five stars. Simply the best shampoo ever. Hands down. If you are considering the price of this product in this sized container in comparison to other brands shampoo in similar sizes, I urge you to buy this. You will never go back to your brand, I don't care which one it is. Enjoy how your hair feels.

Redken Clean Maniac Hair Cleansing Cream is the same as the white bottle Redken Cleansing Cream Shampoo but with a fancy new label and name. The ingredients are the same and it works and smells the same. I've included pictures of the old bottle and new bottle with my review. I really like Redken Cleansing Cream Shampoo both the old and new, they work the same to me. I use it a couple times a week although it may be too much for some people to use that often; it is entirely dependent on your hair type and how much buildup you have. I leave it on for 4-5 minutes and it strips out all the oils, product, and dirt. Also I have very hard water and this shampoo also cleans that out too- that's a big plus! The scent is a very light and tolerable citrus, nothing strong. This shampoo will strip the oils so you might want to supplement your hair with a salon quality leave-in conditioner or spray.

My daughter and I both have greasy scalp. I have fine hair with dry ends. She has very thick hair that produces a lot of oil. I found a youtube video suggesting the use of this shampoo and then your normal healthy shampoo and conditioning routine (Redken, Joico, etc). She did it to be able to only wash her hair twice a week. My daughter and I do it EVERY day. I just use a little bit on the scalp, rinse and shampoo and condition. My daughter uses a healthy amount of this shampoo and then Sally's version of Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo--no conditoner. Both of us feel we have found the rountine that fits us and leave our hair clean and healthy.

I was hesitant because for me, this is considered out of budget. I was recommended to use this once a week by a friend who graduated cosmetology. You only need a small amount. I have had this for two years and it isn’t even half way gone yet. I have hair that absorbs fluid and typically needs more product than you’d think. It definitely strips your hair of all of that nasty build-up from products and leaves it feeling nice and smelling nice.

Even with a water treatment system our well water causes buildup and issues that leave hair feeling dry, brittle and "dirty" no matter how carefully we wash and rinse. This shampoo, used every few days (even on my color treated hair) is a GAME CHANGER. It leaves hair shiny, silky and soft. I tend to use this shampoo and follow with a deep conditioner and my thick, coarse hair is pretty close to perfect. Also great for chemical/chlorine buildup from swimming pools. I highly recommend.

This was great to remove product buildup. I use it very seldom though because it will dull color. Not as quickly as most clarifying shampoos though so it’s a good alternative. Smell is minimal which I like. Makes my hair and scalp so clean.

It is practically the only shampoo that will get my hair clean! Although the manufacturer and other reviewers recommend using once or twice a week, i have started using it every time i wash my hair. Which is every day. And my hair looks great. Well....good at least. And clean.

I always struggled with the oily hair and was washing my hair everyday. but this shampoo make my life easy. I can easily wash my hair on 4rd day. Reccomend this item to everyone who struggles with an oily scalp.

Great for a good cleaning on your hair. This product gives you a feeling of a treatment on your hair and scalp. I use it once a week. I need it to strip away all the damage my hair goes through in a week, blow drying and lots of hair products.
