I inherited a couple of old Mills slot machines that were inoperable. When I cracked the first one open I noticed something amiss right away. The inside mechanisms (there are tons of levers and springs) were greasy and dark. Chunks of grease were piled on various surfaces, bolts, pins, gears, springs... everything.The thing about these old slot machines is that they're designed to be run clean and dry. Over the 100 year history of the machine someone along the way started servicing the machine who didn't have proper training. I don't either. So, my task was to try to remove as much grease as possible without disassembling the machine, get it back closer to the design and then start going through the service manual.I was able to pull the inside mechanisms out of the machine with only a couple of knob turns. Then, all I had to do was avoid the paper face of the prize reels.This spray made it easy to clean only one small area at a time. The nozzle (even without a tube) is well controlled. The spray itself has a pleasant citrus smell to it and while it is definitely chemically in smell and feel it dries and wipes easily.I was tackling several kinds of unknown lubricants and greases at once and was able to get it all off of every surface I tried with just a little spray, wipe, and repeat. I'm probably bathing these things in more than most people will on a modern engine bay, but there's value added here for me in being able to just gently wash the parts.If you're shining up your carburetor or headers, then this should be an easy product for you to use.If you're looking for something to replace brake cleaner, this might not be your jam. Brake cleaner is very harsh. It dries out your hands and sucks the life out of everything but metal. It's really good on tough brake dust, but for a more delicate surface you may wish to try this engine cleaner.Still, I don't think brake dust will stand up to this spray. It may take a little more volume than the harsher stuff.

I used this to do some cleaning on my boat motor. The motor was fairly clean, just some light grime and residue. It did a great job with this. It left the surfaces clean and looking new. In the areas where I had belt filings from the serpentine belt it didn’t works so well. It did loosen up some of the rubber “dust” but this isn’t a real grease mess so I expected limited results with this. More stubborn greasy parts may require some agitation with a brush to fully remove. It did work and live up to my expectations. I haven’t tried it on a real dirty engine like my diesel equipment and can’t speak how it will do with that. I have some left and will give it a try when it gets a little warmer.

So I always traditionally used a rag with spray on the rag to wipe off the engine and I was a little nervous spraying anything on my engine. This blew me away with how easy and quickly it worked. After just about 5 minutes of letting it set I rinsed off carefully and the dirt, grime, dust fell right off.The spray offers a much more convenient way to clean your engine with a quarter of the work you normal would put towards cleaning your engine. The smell is not bad, the cans have quite a bit of fluid inside and will last you for some time! I think being that this is a 2 pack you get your moneys worth for sure here! When I run out I will definitely be buying more of this and made myself a real fan of this engine cleaner. HIGHLY recommend!

Yeah, it kind of works but it is not the be all end all solution I feel it claims to be. Added a before and after of my little VW engine that I tried this product on. You can see that engine compartment cleanliness is not one of my priorities. I live in the high desert and am on gravel/dirt roads quite often so this little clean-up won't last long at all. If you look closely at some of the nooks and crannies you'll see that a lot more scrubbing is required than implied. Used the better part of a whole can to do this little job so it seems to me cost to value ratio is not the greatest.No offensive or strong chemical smell which is good. No specific statement on can as to removal from surface product is used upon. Do I rinse or wipe? I went with rinsing and was kind of surprised at how water beaded up on all surfaces after rinsing... makes me wonder what residue is left and will it actually attract dirt and dust?Bottom line, product kind of lived up to it's marketing but not completely in my opinion. I see other reviewers are quite happy with this for non engine compartment applications so that type of use may be where this product shines. YMMV to be sure.

These are fantastic for cleaning all sorts of oils/grease on various things.I recently tore down and cleaned one of our resin 3D printers, and used this to clean all the bearings and rails before re-lubricating.Also used to clear an area on an engine to more easily locate an oil leak.

Not good at all. Left the dirt in a greasy type residue even after multiple rinses. Had to buy another product to remove this one. Only used a small amount so still have most of can left unfortunately.

This degreaser works well, the non foaming part is no joke!the can has both the straw for directed spray, and the normal tip for diffused.
