AmLactin Moisturizing Body Lotion, 20 Ounces (2 Pack)

I noticed a difference in the softness of my skin within only a few days. My legs have never been softer, regardless of when or how often I shave them! I started using this product on my legs only, then progressed to my feet and the rest of my body. Every inch of my body is softer than it has ever been. I am sure some will want to know my skin type and/or age so here you are. I will be 45 this year, always wear sun block but am freckled. I like the smell, although I have heard some say they do not. I cannot think of a way to describe it other than 'clean'. Not like 'fresh' clean, like irish spring type smells or anything. More of a neutral earthy clean smell. My daughter also uses this product and she is allergic to most products out there so this was a game changer in our home. Keep in mind a little goes a long way with this product. I would also recommend you plan to give your skin more than a minute to absorb it. It takes more than a second to 'absorb' into your skin. At first I felt like it was leaving my skin a bit greasy/oily but that is just when you first put it on. Once you give it a bit to soak in it just leaves highly hydrated skin.

Amlactin Daily is a body lotion containing 12% lactic acid to assist the skin in sloughing. Lactic acid lotion was recommended to me by a dermatologist who was examining my case of ichthiosis (“skin of the fish”). According to the literature, my kind of ichthiosis is due to a mutation on the X chromosome that causes the production of a defective enzyme, resulting in a failure in recycling cholesterol at the outermost dermal layer. This results in the formation of scales.Ordinary body lotions do not remove or prevent my scaling. I apply Amlactin to the body surfaces that are most prone to scaling, and it alleviates the condition in all the affected areas. However, some scaling remains on the shins and ankles.When considering the use of Amlactin, one must remember that some people have skin that is sensitive to lactic acid. Also, Amlactin is not intended for use on the face, and it would be painful to get it in one’s eyes.

My dermatologist recommended this lotion after I asked if there was anything I could do about my severely dry skin. He diagnosed me with Ichthyosis Vulgaris which is a fancy way of saying my skin does not retain moisture. I have have had severely dry, itchy, scaly, flaky skin on my legs my whole life and I have have tried everything under the sun. Lotions, creams, supplements… you name it and I’ve tried with no relief. I put this lotion on last night as soon as I received it and my legs are still moisturized and not flaky even 12 hours later. I highly recommend this lotion for anyone that suffers from severe dry skin. I’m not super fond of the scent but it’s not horrible and the pay off is totally worth it! If you are in the fence or feel like you are on the verge of giving up on skin hydration, give this a try.

This cream is super effective with dry skin. It is easy to apply and I do it every night before sleep.Cons: smell and skin is more sensitive to sunburn so make sure to wear sunscree

This was recommended by my Dermatologist. I had some very bad skin issues on my lower legs dry flaky and peeling skin. In just a few applications I could already see a huge improvement. Just a couple of things I didnt care for was 1. having to shake the bottle well before using. 2. the smell of it. Kinda hard to explain smells somewhat like bad butterscotch but the smell will go away after its on your skin for a while. I ordered 2 bottles of it and for me it is really working. I have used many other major brands but this Amlactin has been the only thing that is really working. Great product that really works!!

This product actually smooth my skin and release all the roughness off of. I am very glad to have been able to purchase it and I will do it again.
