Q: Does this scanner have a sleep mode that sets in once the scanner is not used for a couple of seconds? If so, is there a way to disable that?

Yes it has a 1 or 5 second hibernation mode built in (it can be set to 5 seconds) - unfortunately it does not look like it can be completely disabled.

Q: When we scan a label it is automatically sending a cariage return afterward, how do i disable this?

in your manual that came with the unit, there is a "disable Suffix" on page 41. scan that bar code should stop the sending of the CR at the end of the data. IF you need a copy of the bar code you can e-mail us directly at sales AT indatasys dot com
