I am very happy I bought 2 sets of these a couple of ...
Our Labrador had ACL surgery about a month ago and it is very important he not slip and fall during his long recovery. We live in the deep south and do not get much, if any snow during the winter. But, we can get ice. I am very happy I bought 2 sets of these a couple of weeks ago. After heavy rain and an 50 degree temp drop in 24 hours our deck w/ramp was very icy. I put 2 of these side by side and the 2 sets laid end to end were enough to get my dog and me from the back door to the non-icy lawn. These worked just as I had hoped and I am very glad I had these ready for use. Even after our dog has recovered, I think these will come in very handy for our next snow/ice event.

Skeptical...but proven wrong!
I really didn't know what to make of it this product. I just picked it up as a means to cover an area that seems to ice over in the winter time. Well...these things work as advertised. I appreciate the low cost of them since I will probably replace them every other winter, but it was amazing that this literally adhered to snow and ice and created a safe walking area for UPS/FEDEX/Amazon to drop off packages to my door.

work very well, somewhat fragile
I ordered these to place across a section of our deck that is a dangerous but frequently trod path. The carpets work very well. We are very happy with the function. I am a bit disconcerted that they began to pull and tear very soon after we put them down. The advertising is never quite clear as to whether you roll these out and leave them out or roll them out on the snow and leave them. I decided that since our deck is covered that I would try leaving them out. Functionally for the snow and ice, they are perfect. From the perspective of wear and tear, perhaps leaving them out is not ideal. Still, I am very pleased. I have not yet done it but I do believe I can repair them by bonding the fiber with a thick glue.7/24/2011 UPDATEI used these through the winter and they were helpful. We used them primarily across our deck where the surface get slippery. This area is covered by a roof but is open on the sides. I had to recycle one of the mats because it tore apart. The 2nd mat has been set aside for next winter.

Got them for the deck so the dog could walk on them when the deck gets iced up. It took a while for them to flatten And we had to put bricks on them to hold them down. They seemed OK until the ice came and they iced up just as much as the deck :(Giving three stars because they did OK with just snow.

Works Perfectly
Bought these for my grandmother and great aunt in Wyoming. They are elderly and were able to roll these out together. They did it as the weather was starting to change before the snow stuck. The wet weather helped the carpet stick in place. We ordered more to cover the deck, front and back, stairs.

Stay Steady on Ice and Snow
Bought these last January and was pleasantly surprised. They actually do work. We are "old people" and the snow and ice can be very treacherous where we live. These worked perfect and we were able to get from the house to the car with no problems! I would highly recommend them to others who may have to deal ice and snow.I want to add that we live in central NC, so we don't get a ton of snow, but when we do, we do need a product like this. These worked great last year and I have already had occasion to use this year when my back steps were solid ice. They were great. Because we don't get the kind of snow and ice folks further north of us do, I can't comment on long term use. You may want to read reviews from folks who experience more ice and snow. But - if you are in an area like we are with limited snow and ice, I strongly recommend them.

Waste of money
I guess I must not understand how this ice carpet works. You shovel your steps, you lay this piece of fiber down and.... it doesn't cling to the steps or the risers. It just lays there, still stiff as cardbord, not conforming to any steps or poch. It's more of a safety hazard than using ice-melting pellets. (The directions are very minimal, too. Do you place this on top of snow and ice? Do you get it wet so it will "conform" to the shape of your steps? What's to prevent further slippage? The photo used in the item description is very, very, very misleading.)Live and learn, I guess. Save your money. Buy ice-melting pellets.
