j5create USB4 8K60 Slim Hub (JCH453)

This supplier is awesome. I thought I had an issue with the J5 and they helped me work the problem. Turns out the J5 does what it is supposed to but I have to convert HDMI to DP and it turns out my adapters are uni direction so it won't work. Either need a dock from USBC to DP or a bidirectional hdmi to DP.

Using it with an M1, 2020 Mac mini running the latest version of macOS. No performance or stability problems observed. The hub provides plenty of ports for my backup HDD, an additional storage SSD, and the regular connectivity of other SSDs, thumb/flash drives, and iDevices, plus reduces physical wear on the Mac's ports.

Amazon said this can run a display over the usbc ports, which it cannot Build quality seems fine, just doesn't do what I want

I’m using this with an iPad Pro 3rd gen (which has TB3 / USB4), and after using it for a reasonable amount of time, I am quite impressed with it. I have been driving a 4K display over HDMI, using a USB-A port to connect an external AMP/DAC, a USB-C port to connect to a Direct Attached Storage device, and the power-in USB-C port with a 65W wall adapter - or sometimes a 170W power bank. Everything runs very smoothly and I’ve had no problems of any kind. The adapter itself does not appear to have any thermal issues and I’ve never noticed it being hot during data-intensive tasks. Considering the price is at the lower end of the spectrum when compared to other legitimate adapters, I am really impressed with the quality of this. I had a myriad of issues with my previous Satechi. Perhaps under more demanding circumstances than my usage there may be a different review, but for my purposes I think it very much deserves 5 stars.

I've tried it on Steam Deck OLED with 4K120 output, but sadly the audio keeps dropping out. 4K60 works fine. On my MacBook Pro with M3 Pro chip it is limited to 4K60 anyhow and that works fine if you only need that. The USB-C port can provide full performance of a connected 2.5Gbps ethernet adapter while displaying 4K60 video. So if 4K60 is enough for you, this might be a good pick. Sadly I got it for 4K120 which is not working smoothly. Seems to be the same chipset as the Club3D offering with the same limitations :( . So will be returning it.

ROG Xbox Ally X（Windows11、USB4対応）で使用するために購入したが、数秒おきに接続断を繰り返し、SSDやHDMIを全く認識しない。 PDは接続しなおすと通電したりしなかったりと動作が不安定。 一般的なUSB Type-Cバスパワータイプのハブは問題なく動作するのに・・・。 使い物にならない。
