Luchador Dice Game

Great fun filler game, all the components are excellent apart from the player mates which are a bit flimsy and fiddly. Not a big problem but odd why the three separate cards for your character are not joined together as one and made from thicker cardboard like you would get in something like 7 Wonders or Lancaster.Apart from that, the ring is great (and not annoying or fiddly to put together or take down which I thought it might be, the dice are good and not too lightweight and good quality.The rounds play very quickly and have a great fun factor about them, this game is along the lines of King of Tokyo for difficulty, mood, length etc.I personally dislike wrestling as its kinda stupid but even I was whooping and shouting things like 'El Luchadoooooor!' when the dice went my way.For the cost of this game, fun factor components I have given a 4 star, would have been 5 but for the player mats

Great Game

Great game, love this, and so grateful my little 6 year old is really smitten by it now as he wants to play it all the time.I bought this a couple of years ago at the Discworld convention in Manchester direct from the BackSpindle team who were testing and trialling at the convention.For 2 or 4 players in tag team mode, It's a game of imagination with players picking one of a number of varied, fantastically realised Mexican wrestler characters.There is a cracking wrestling ring to assemble with ropes, and then character cards and cut outs and even championship belts.The game is played with dice (obviously) - 4 types. Regular game dice are rolled every turn by the protagonists into the ring establishing hits, blocks, counters and pins. Results are assessed and then players roll hit dice to " forearm smash" or "Table slam" (and other moves) their opponent for varying damage or Pin attempts. The special Black Luchador dice is ready for particularly successful rounds where players can take a chance on signature moves which are superbly described (and best delivered in wrestling commentator style!) on wrestler cards.It does take a few games to get used to the rules, who goes first on damage, defensive play, re-roll Pins option, who pins first etc, but hey, doesn't every board game?All in all fantastic fun for all ages!!
