Honestly dont know why they're so expensive but I guess the technology in them makes them worth that much. Works as expected and have someone using the second one from all the way in Mongolia so the range is definitely there. The app that they use is stated nowhere on the pamphlet but can be found on the video that they provide. If you want to save the hassle of looking its called Tuya Smart. Works pretty well and was having some issues at first but thankfully we could get it fixed while they were all the way over the others side of the world. So if you want a little lamp that you can press and have it change colors in sync, this is the one to go with, unless you find cheaper.

Such a great gift for my friend 900 miles away! It's so fun to connect with her through the lamp even when life is busy. It was a big hit for her birthday.I would leave 5 stars but her light doesn't change when I tap the light, I have to use the app but it's still fun. The app is very easy to use

I got these for me and my elderly Mom. It was priced less than similar product...I think I paid $80 compared to like $200. They work as far as synchronization. When I touch my lamp, hers lights up and vice-versa. However, that's about all it does. I consider myself reasonably tech-saavy but the instructions and YouTube video for these lamps suck. If the product has more functionality other than turning on and off I can't find it. The Tuya Smart software used to operate the lamps is practically useless. I give it 3 stars because they work and it's fun.

This light was a gift for my moms birthday. She lives about 7 hours away and so distance is hard for us to feel close. This light makes us feel so connected. The setup was easy and so is switching the lights. I would recommend this to anyone!
