This not your father's double stick foam. The foam double stick mounting material is more thick, softer and pliable, allowing the surface to stick to surfaces which are not perfectly smooth such as wood, plaster and concrete better.Nice!

These work very well. The backer peels off easily and they really stick. You might need adhesive remover to get them completely off.
