Eco-Friendly Candle Making Kit
I admit our first try at candle-making with this kit was not eco-friendly. We used fresh, unused cooking oil our first go around just to have a base to compare to our future candles. This kit comes with all the ingredients you need to make candles from your cooking oil. You will use just shy of half a cup of cooking oil in addition to the three waxes and fragrance oil in each candle. We used the included vanilla but will try a different fragrance on our next batch. This is a fun activity with your partner or kiddos.

Works as instructed, enough materials for 3 candles not 5.
The instructions on the kit are easy to follow and the supplies are good quality. The oil in my kit was leaking upon arrival, but it was well wrapped by itself so most of the mess was contained. I still had plenty of oil for my candles.I followed the instructions and made a 200ml batch to make 2 candles at once, and the remaining waxes are only enough to make one more 100ml candle. The cost of the kit at the time of my review is 29.99, which I felt was a bit high for making 5 candles but now knowing that it only makes 3 definitely feels high to me.If your goal in getting the kit is to see if you like how the candles come out and to learn the recipe so you can buy the ingredients by themselves to make your own candles without getting more kits if you like it, be aware that they never name the waxes in the kit. The stabilizing wax is definitely Palm wax, but I can't identify the other two waxes for sure. I have an educated guess as to what they are, but I am not positive and don't want to give away their recipe after getting to try this for "free" (there's taxes).I used clean, unused vegetable oil to make my candles. They came out nicely and have a consistency similar to soy. I'm happy that I got to try this kit out and think it would be a fun introduction into candle making for someone... but it isn't spectacular. If it made the number of candles advertised on the product page, this would be a 5 star review.

Fun project!
I actually put off using this kit because it seemed complicated when I looked at it the first time. It felt overwhelming. Looking at it the second time, I was a bit less overwhelmed. First off, the box is much smaller than I had anticipated and is super cute! It comes with almost everything you'll need. You'll need to supply the cooking oil. I also didn't receive any stirrers. It comes with a booklet that explains everything and all of the instructions are in there. I was a little confused at first looking at the contents of the box because there were three types of waxes that didn't appear to be labeled. Upon accidental inspection in weird lighting, the long bag is the base wax, it says it very lightly on the bag. The stabilizing wax is labeled and the other must be the hardening wax. It comes with the Madagascan vanilla fragrance oil. It was a little trial and error for me since I've never made a candle before but the directions were thorough and it worked! I'm pretty proud of myself honestly! It's a fun afternoon project and is would also be great for a gift!

Definitely not 5
I got this kit so my grandchildren and I could make candles they could give to their mothers. We needed 4 so when I saw this kit could make 5 I thought it would be a perfect project for all of us. Sadly, this only makes 3 at best, which was very disappointing for all of us. Identifying all the waxes was not easy as one of the waxes labels is super light and almost unreadable in ordinary light. My vanilla leaked and I had no scent for 2 of my candles. The directions are very clear and easy to follow. The items that are included are good quality. I like that used oil and be used, but we used new oil since I didn’t have used oil available. While I was disappointed in the amount and oil leaking, this is a great concept and would be a fun project for a variety of people to try. Please update the advertising to truly reflect that this makes only 3 so others will not be disappointed and find themselves at their local stores trying to purchase a different set so someone is not left out.

Fun and creative activity
The OurHands Waste-Less Candle Making Kit turned our Friendsgiving into a memorable and eco-friendly experience! We loved the idea of repurposing used cooking oil to create beautifully scented candles. The kit comes complete with all the ingredients and tools needed, making it easy to get started. The specially formulated waxes ensured our candles set, burned, and smelled just like premium ones. The packaging is not only environmentally friendly but also makes it a perfect natural gift set. Highly recommended for a fun and sustainable DIY candle-making activity for family, friends, or even a creative classroom activity!

Didn't know what to expect from this really but pretty good kit!
Okay, somehow the kit says it makes 5 candles in the online text, but as soon as you get the kit, it says three candles. No matter, I only need to make two fairly big candles and everything in the box was enough for that. At least the candle containers were pretty large to fill. It also says you can use used cooking oil. But I looked at the oil I used to make fried chicken and I didn't feel like straining it. Plus even though the vanilla in the kit is fairly potent and strong, I couldn't see how you wouldn't smell fried chicken if you burned the candle, so I use new cheap vegetable oil. Also note, if you want a colored candle (I needed one to be green) you have to order special candle dye. But if you are happy with white, opaque candles this is what the kits makes. The instructions are pretty good and it is true, you can use the microwave but watch the heating times. It is a good project to work with your own kids. I was making candles for a couple of Christmas gifts, so the price of the kit didn't matter that much to me, but aside from the environmental good feelings, it is cheaper to just buy candles, lol. But it is a fun project, environmentally friendly and fun, and you come out with a craft one can actually use. Always a bonus!

Lovely kit
I love the idea of this kit that you can make a candle with your used deep frying oil. However, normal oil can be used and doesn't need the filtering process. This would make a lovely gift for someone who loves candles or crafting. Good instructions that are easy to follow and I found it very straightforward to make. Nice basic tins to use and reuse after for your candle creations. Highly recommend.

Candle making kit
Good kit to try and make your own candles. The instructions are easy to follow, great for beginners. In the kit are most of what you need. You need cooking oil and a few more jars or candle tins as there is only two tins provided to put the candle in but the kit makes more than two candles. With the kit you can make candles as gifts or candles to keep for yourself. In the kit you get vanilla oil but you could use other scents to personalise your candles how you would like.

A little messy
Found this difficult Messi and not as expected didn't really work out not the best quality and didn't have a good ease of use therefore I did not think this was good value for the money

Everything you need (almost)
Let's clear something up. The almost is you need to supply cooking oil. This is no problem. It is clearly mentioned in the advertising. You also need to supply a stiring stick and a microwavable container. Yes note! It is assumed you have a microwave. This is a great way to introduce you to candle making. Apart from things already mentioned, everything is enclosed, packed in a somewhat subtle appropriate box. The instructions are very clear but do identify the differing items before you start. You will be lead all the way through to end up with an actual candle. That is so satisfying. Then of course, if you like it, you can progress by doing more adventurous projects. When starting out you do need a few different things so this is ideal kit and although at just under £25 at the time of review, it is a cost effective way to try it out.

Fun Candle making kit
This is good fun candle making kit that contains almost everything you require to make your own candles. On opening the box you are presented with a list of items and instructions required to make the candles including 2 metal tins for the candles themselves. The instructions are clear and precise and I have so far made 3 candles from the kit and each one has turned out absolutely great which I'm really surprised at so they must be idiot proof. The main ingredient that does require you to buy is cooking oil.Incidentally in the kit the mixing sticks were missing so I had to source them elsewhere and looking at other reviews they have also encountered the same issues as myself which is a pity. Also the 3 types of Wax and its labelling are just not consistent. One of the Wax packets has a clear label which is easy to read but the other 2 were terrible and both in white text so you could hardly make it out or where it was printed on the wrapper and mixing them up and getting it wrong would make the candle go wrong so it was quite important.Overall I really enjoyed making the candles with this kit but there are just a few minor issues that ruined an otherwise fun experience.
