WINGET Carbon Fiber Mountain Alpine Ski Poles XA-50

Upon initial inspection these poles look great, are light, and feel sturdy which is exactly why I bought them. I bought the 50% carbon fiber 50% aluminum poles, instead of the 100% carbon fiber, for the weight reduction of the carbon fiber and strength of the aluminum for pushing in the back country and, although still untested, I'm highly confident these will do the job very well. The ergonomic grip feels nice in the hand and the straps are standard. These poles are compatible with standard screw-on baskets; I put on a pair of powder baskets I bought separately and they fit just fine. The poles shipped surprisingly fast and arrived ahead of schedule which is always a nice surprise. Very happy with this purchase. I will update this review in a few weeks after I've run them through the proving ground, but my first impression is 5 stars.Update: Poles held up to the challenge. Would recommend to others.

I bought these poles for trips to Steamboat and Big Sky and was excited to use them but during my first trip to Steamboat I quickly became weary of my purchase after losing one of the baskets on the first day. Realizing I had installed by pushing it up rather than screwing it on, I was confident that I would not lose another and thankful that the poles came with extras. Halfway through the next day though I soon figured out why it had come with extras.....because they don't stay on. By the time my trip was over I had gone through the initial basket plus the remaining extras that come with the set and I am now left with a pole that is useless for pushing on flat snow as the pole pierces straight into the snow now. Really disappointed with how these baskets adhere.

Just got the poles; you don't allow much time for the customer to possibly use a purchased item prior to soliciting a rating, so give me a chance! They seem light but substantial, nice baskets (2 sets, piste and powder) so I am looking forward to trying them out Monday 3/16/2020, and will try to update this.

Lively XC ski poles - EXCEPT there are no baskets to prevent the poles from sinking too deeply into the snow! Not on the piles, not loose in the box. The baskets ARE shown in the photo of the poles in the ad I ordered them from, though.

Strong poles that are also very lightweight. Straps are easy to adjust (although I never use the straps anyway for safety). I have really enjoyed using them on the slopes this season!

I really liked these, they worked good for me. I am an intermediate skier. They are a good value for what you are paying. Are there better ones out there? Well sure. But they will cost you double.

Sturdy enough build, baskets won't stay on. Lost a basket already after trying to vigilantly keep them on. Never had this issue with any other ski poles. Pretty disappointing. Not sure of I can find a replacement basket that fits. Poles are pretty useless without them.
