Great tool
Works well does the job recommend for diy home owners

Worthless for intended purpose
The threads on this tool are cut too flat and too thick to mate with the nut on a standard compression fitting. It was very frustrating to discover this in the middle of a plumbing project.

Does the job
This does what it is designed to do. If you have not used this type tool before watch an online video. It saved me from having to cut my copper pipe when replacing my toilet valve

Works great. Missing handle and instructions.
I needed to replace a leaky multi-turn shutoff valve with a quarter turn valve. The valve uses a compression fitting with a ferrule on a 1/2" copper pipe. You have to remove the old ferrule before installing the new valve. This handy tool does a great job of easily removing the ferrule without damaging the copper pipe. You simply remove the old valve body and screw this tool in its place. Make sure the inner plunger is fully retracted. You don't have to tighten the old valve nut that hard - just enough for it to hold on. You then tighten the inner plunger which pulls on the valve nut and pulls both the ferrule and nut off of the pipe. The tool was missing a small bar that acts like a handle on the plunger. I used a #1 Philips screwdriver instead. You can also use a wrench to turn the plunger. As you can see, it cleanly pulled the ferrule off. I sanded the copper pipe with some 250 grit sandpaper and installed the new valve. No instructions come with the tool, but there are plenty of videos on-line to show how to use it if you can't figure it out.

Good Quality
I received this olive puller in December 2023. The product I received exactly matched the pictures on the Amazon product page. I was surprised at how hefty it was when I inspected it. There were no manufacturing defects or sharp edges on the puller I received. Anyone ordering this should be doing so understanding that it is made of brass because ideally you don't use a tool that is constructed of a much harder metal than what you are using the tool on since a harder metal highly increases the chances of damaging the metal you are using the tool on. The tool being made of brass also has the benefit of not rusting. Since I have copper water pipes I wanted to use this tool as a "level 1" attempt at removing compression rings from the pipe before resorting to more heavy duty tools made of a harder metal. I tested this tool on a supply line water pipe I was replacing a shutoff valve on and the tool worked great. I have worked on pipes with very stubborn compression rings that have basically fused to the pipe and usually I end up having to just cut the pipe. I do have another similar puller made of steel which I'll use as my "level 2" tool to try to remove a compression ring before having to resort to cutting the pipe. Overall I think the quality of this tool matches the price point it is at so I think it is a good value for what you get.

Does not FIT
This tool does not fit 1/2in compression sleeves. Big disappointment!!!! Misleading

Works well on properly seated compression rings.
This tool, like any other should be lubed well before use. It works well on properly seated compression rings, although you may find that hundred-year old piece of plumbing that has been overtightened and work hardened every decade, and the compression ring has become embedded into the pipe. Nothing will pull that out, and the only solution is to cut out the offending piece. Otherwise, this Olive (compression ring) Puller from the CMTOOL Store will do the job easily and cleanly, saving you time and money.
