Fun films for older audiences are a rare thing in this age of public information message teaching aids disguised as movies. This film isn't that recent and is better for it. Bruce Cambel plays Elvis who is still alive and resides in a residential home for seniors. He and a friend discover a mummy who is bumping off residents at the home, glorious dumb fun a must for Bruce fans. Funny and some tender moments great cast and well acted. Some good monster effects with some cool camera work. Why wouldn't you want to see it.

'Bubba ho tep-'yeah i know, you ask yourself -what the hell is this before you even watch it. Well watch it!!This movie has to be -simply put....one of the most entertaing black comedys ever made. It has sad/creepy and very funny moments and also a excellent soundtrack. Which ,put altogether is hard to come buy in any film,but with this it all comes together perfectly.Bruce's best performance to date-fantastic as sabastian/elvis and all the other cast shine superbly, i was shocked how excellent this film was with its budget-superb.I have seen this film many times -one of my top ten. I am quite shocked by some of the reviews-fair enough to people who are not into these type of movies or movie i should say as its one of a kind,but fans of bruce & don-why are you so dissapointed!!Any way-just give it a chance ,to the ones who havent gone for it-i am waiting patiently for the prequel-counting down..(TBC)''take care of business''

Original, Quirky, beautiful, spooky, and bloody hilarious. A Perfect film from a director who has lived his life as a director of some awful blips, and finally figured it out!.If only Ed Wood could have seen this, he would have been inspired.What a great film, just make sure you have your own copy. Soundtrack is one of the best ever, great tune and everything is timed so well.This is the film equivalent of a usually losing rubbish tennis player suddenly playing the perfect set of tennis out of nowhere...employing the same shots but in a finely tuned exceptional and memorable manner. The dirty toilet standard ridiculous humour is juxtaposed with genuine creepy moments and real mid west american road house styleee! Love it.

The premise of an aging Elvis and a Black J.F.K confronting the Mummy is unusual but it works incredibly well there is more to this story than the title, there is a adult theme around how the elderly are treated once the enter retirement homes and the loss they feel when there children/relatives forget them, the film dialogue is well written and the acting superb by the lead actors. This is not a mainstream film but worth watching for something diferent that does not have special effects driving it.]

Saw it at the cinema on release and once a year or so since. Full of pathos, charm and a riveting 'what if' combined with a somewhat slow paced schlock horror element this remains well planted in the lower reaches of my Top 10 films.

This movie was very unusual, it kept me interested and entertained the whole way through but at the end I found myself wondering that the heck did I just watch? if you are like me and like something different, this is it

Seinem Zimmergenossen wurde schrecklicherweise gerade das Licht ausgeblasen,Ein anderer Mitbewohner stibitzt, was er brauchen kann. Dinge, die das Leben hier schöner machen.Doch nicht lange und der Leichenwagen fährt wieder vor, denn.........................es ist etwas Grauenhaftes auf den Fluren des Heims der Vergessenen unterwegs und es sind nichtnur die Bewohner, nein...nein....beileibe nicht.BUBBA HO- TEP- Film- Musik, bei denen nicht nur Fans von Elvis- Muke glänzende Augen bekommen.Tränen der Ergriffenheit. Sich abwechselnd mit Tränen des Gelächters." Ich sage dir- er wollte sich meine Seele holen....aus meinem Hintern.....die kriegst du aus jeder halbwegs grossen Öffnung des menschlichen Körpers `raus. Eine Mumie bekommt von jedem Einzelnen hier nicht besonders viel Energie........,aber die Beute ist eine leichte....".Die Mumie im Cowboy- Dress sieht wahrhaftig und fledderig gut aus." Kennedy findet er schließlich wieder Sinn im Leben-und hat die Chance, ein Held zu sein.BUBBA HO - TEP hat für mich alles, was eine sinnvolle ( Horror ) Komödie braucht. So sieht das aus.Längen? Nulla da dire sul film, bellissimo, un piccolo cult.
