I love it; this clock is a piece of art with magic!The alarm clock is described as wood. I don't know how wood can display the time. If it isn't wood, I don't care. The clock is beautifully made and is attractive to display.When I switched it on, out of the box, the display came on. Whilst I was reading the instructions, it kept going on and off. The clock is sound activated; nowhere is this mentioned on the Amazon page. The sound setting is very sensitive.Getting going:This alarm clock needs a little effort to set it up. The instructions are printed on a very small piece of paper and in a minute font size. The translated English instructions are quite difficult to follow but do provide some unintended comic relief.Ignore steps 1 and 2 and go straight to 3. There are 3 buttons on the back. Press SET and then cycle through all the settings. There are many settings that you can change. In addition to displaying the time, you can have two from: calendar, seconds, temperature and humidity. I chose temperature and humidity. The temperature displayed was accurate and matched those in two other devices, The humidity was significantly different but my only other device might not be accurate. I don't see the point in displaying seconds. A good reason not to display the date is that it is in the American format i.e. Xmas day is 12:25.On the brightness setting, the Automatic default setting apparently dims between 6PM and 7AM. I didn't really notice any difference.Although I am not using it as an alarm clock, alarms can be set differently for weekdays and weekends. The middle UP button gives access to weekend settings. There is a snooze option.The downward button (nearest the power lead) controls sound control (on/off).TIP: The buttons on the back are quite small. With the power lead connected you might find it fiddly to set up. If so, insert batteries and set up without the power lead.I hope you found this review useful.If you have a question, I always try to respond when Amazon forwards them to me.

This really is an attractive, yet simple clock.There are NO visible signs of this having a clockface when you take it out the box, it looks just like a block of solid 'wood'.You know it's there somewhere of course, but it still surprises you when it's powered up and you see it for the first time.The settings are pretty straight forward time/date wise, but the instructions have been translated pretty badly so you will have to faff around a bit until you get used to it.The sound-activation is pretty neat, where it will only illuminate when a noise is detected (like a cough for instance in an otherwise quiet environment).Just tapping the top of the clock will also bring up the display.This setting is ideal for impressing visitors, as 'they too will be amazed' by how the digits magically appear through solid wood!. (Well, probably not a amazed, but you know what I mean).It runs on 3 x AAA batteries (not included), or by USB power (a lead is included).There is some sort of power backup within the clock itself, as the one I have here for testing hadn't had batteries fitted at any time (I used a USB mains adaptor).After plugging the clock back in after nearly 2 days of being disconnected, the correct time & date had been preserved.The orangey-yellow hew of the digits combined with this particular shade of the wood-effect face really does look nice. I personally think it's a great colour combination.Yep, I like it a lot, and the only thing now is to find the best place for it (so long as other family members don't pinch it off me first).Recommended... 5-Stars.

This product is toss. Overpriced and pointless. Instructions translated by a toddler presumably. Do not buy this clock. I'm going to toss mine on the bbq

Great look and easy to setup!Does anyone know how to keep the clock display on all the time?Given 4 * due to not able to find how to keep the display on all the time

Very easy to setup and there is a choice of usb power or 3AAA batteries to function this clock.Its a sleek and stylish also simple design and very easy to use with a clear to read display. This has alarms and date for convenience & to be fair its all accurate and reliableNicely standing with absolutely no issues whatsoever and therefore happy to recommend for quality style and value for money.
