Well-made and effective
As a die-hard Chemex user, I've been struggling to find affordable (quality) paper filters. Lots of stores in my region don't carry the unbleached ones and, as convenient as they are, they're not the best for the environment. This filter has been GREAT. Coffee tastes great, the product is clearly well-made and looks really nice. My only recommendation is to be sure to rinse the filter immediately (don't let it sit in dish water or with coffee grounds overnight) - I have a feeling that the reviewers who've mentioned residue getting stuck might be experiencing it for that reason. If I rinse right away and let it air dry, it does really well.

CLOGS EASILY- THREW MINE AWAY
First off, I am not one to review products often. But I thought I might save someone $20. I bought this filter to cut down on waste and to not have to buy the paper filters any longer. This product worked well enough....for like a month...tops. I use whole bean coffee that I grind myself, and I have tried every grain size possible to make the coffee. No matter what, this filter clogs badly. The water sits standstill in it now, and I don't even use it...because...I cant. I have boiled it, soaked in vinegar...you name it...to try to de-clog the oils from this filter. I don't know what else to do, so I threw it away out of frustration. I know that products being bad sometimes come down to user error, but trust me when I say, I was actually disappointed enough in it to leave a review to make someone think twice about getting it. I honestly don't know how often the 5 star users use their product, or what kind of beans they are using, but I was not pleased at all.

Eco-friendly alternative to paper filters.
This a nice, eco-friendly alternative to paper filters. The filter allows more oils through the filter, so the mouth-feel is a bit different, along with a more complex flavor. The bottom of the cone is flat, which catches the sediment, so my coffee doesn't end up slodgey. It's not as easy to clean as a paper filter and it needs to be rinsed out after use.

Great quality!
I mostly bought this for my Chemex b/c the filters are huge and rather expensive. I am very pleased with this filter, I notice no drop off in filtering of coffee grounds. taste is great...also, I like that if you notice there is a small rubber ring around the outside of the top of the cone...it enables me to sneak a cup of coffee while its still siphoning through the filter. the rubber protects the fingers from the heat.

I am always looking to reduce waste, so I thought what a great way to reduce the use of the paper filters. Two things, first the filter clogs and, after about two months or less, no matter the amount of vinegar soak I use, I am making myself espresso every morning, then making an Americano from the espresso made by the clogged filter. But second, and perhaps worse, the silicon ring around the edge is splitting along the edge and will eventually separate from the metal component...this is the singular "feature" that makes it possible for me to lift the filter and actually pour myself some coffee during the incredibly slow clogged filter espresso strain. I think I'll go back to the paper filters, they are pricey, but compostable, and I'm guessing not as pricey as buying a metal filter every three months, which by the way, is the amount of time I have owned this filter.

Works better than paper
This stainless coffee filter is working well and cleans up very easily. I like it much better than using a paper filter.
