It doesn’t work at all
Absolutely rubbish buyer beware. Read the reviews very carefully as most refer to a normal paint colour and not this crackle glaze which is very misleading. I have tried with 2 surfaces and 3 paint colours to make this crackle. I’ve tried using heat and not using heat and none of the variations have worked at all, not one crack!! I’d give this zero stars but there’s no option. It should not be for sale. Definitely buy another brand. I bought this as a cheap option as I only needed a small amount for a project but it was a waste of money and time, don’t waste yours.

Happy customer. Perfect for air dry clay
Perfect for air dry clay use. Gives a really nice shine to finished projects and brings out the colours well. Excellent value for money compared to other companies I researched. Shame the bottle had generic acrylic paint instructions rather than specific to the varnish. All round happy with my purchase

Excellent value for kids craft
Excellent for a £2 pot of gold acrylic for kids craft. Only ordered this one as it was the only one available for delivery the next day but really pleased. Photo shows 2 coats over a Matt white spray paint. Very easy to apply, even for a 3 year old!

For £2 it’s worth experimenting with
Okay first of all I believe the function of this medium is actually to “float” the acrylic pigmented (coloured) paint on a contrasting coloured acrylic paint base.In other words, the so called crackle medium acts as a resist between the two acrylic paint colours, So the coat of paint that goes on top of the crackle medium will not adhere strongly to the base.I understand the frustration of those looking for a natural crackle effect and I feel sure it can take effect but it must be an exact science because despite my various experiments I did not observe a magical crackle develop before my eyes as I had hoped. So instead, for my extreme weathered finish, I used a protective respiratory mask, and ran a craft heat gun about 10 - 5 cm away frommy layers of : acrylic craft paint + crackle medium + acrylic craft paint ( allowing each layer to dry before applying the next, but using the heat gun to dry the top layer of acrylic paint)I directed the heat gun closer and for longer where I wanted the more extreme effects of bubbling and wear. Then I allowed my creative instinct to be at play 😊I scuffed with fine steel wool and gently cut lines and lifted the top layer of paint In places.I gave this product 3 stars because it’s an intriguing little bottle of chemical substance that can be experimented with to see what kind of effects you might create in ones art or craft project. But combining heat with these substances can create unhealthy fumes so always wear a protective mask. Also of course applying heat so close to the paint could be a fire hazard also so be cautious. Other than that........have fun 🎠✨🌼🌸

Bad joke
Even as an "add on" item I would say this is a waste of money and unfortunately I brought two.Have today tried it on a third project and still no crackling effect.I'm not a novice at crackling. The other brand of crackle medium I'm using works great.Don't waste your time with this one!

Beautiful paint,
These are beautiful to work with. I've used them on glass, wood, paper mache, plastic and metal with varying degrees of success. Some needed two coats, glass needed up to four. After painting I put the item in a cold oven, heat it to around 80 degrees for fifteen minutes, turn off the oven and let it cool down, this ensures the paint won't chip

Would buy again
This is a wine bottle I’ve started (not finished 😜). It takes a few coats for this tone, so becomes more opaque as to be expected, but I love the sheen! Great price compared to others. I’ve had more expensive ones & to be honest I can’t tell the difference! Will look at their other colours.

Good for craft work
Got for a quick project and it’s 60ml .., doesn’t say it’s permanent /waterproof but I used on a painted terracotta pot where I store water and put flowers on it !! It stays good, no bleeding or anything so far... thumbs up!!
