Saint Vitus - 'Lillie F-65' (Season Of Mist)
Long awaited follow-up to the reunited doom metal band's 1995 'Die Healing' CD. Finally got to see Saint Vitus play a local bar - not long ago so I knew that I needed to purchase a physical copy of this must-have stoner metal release. Tracks that I could not get enough of were the awesome "Let Them Fall", the heavy in-your-face "The Bleeding Ground", the -total- ass-kicking "Blessed Night", the seven-minute wailing ~monster of a rocker~ "Dependence" and "Withdrawal". In the band's own words: the lords of misery are back straight to show us all what the word 'doom' means. Can't rave about this CD enough. Essential.

Heavy!
I was really looking forward to this release, in fact I bought it right after Amazon offered it on MP3, so keep that in mind as I rave about how much I like this album. Tracks 2 and 4 (The Bleeding Ground and Blessed Night) have a heavy, hard ass old school sound that really gets me fired up. The song Let Them Fall is classic Vitus. Go ahead and YouTube the video, because it's bad ass too. My only complaint about the album is it's rather short. Seven songs, two of them instrumental. Don't let that stop you though! Buy the album, put it on, and allow yourself to be enveloped in the sludge that is Saint Vitus!

Like not time has passed....
If you are on this page, I assume you already know who Saint Vitus are and what their music sounds likes so I will skip the background story. This album sounds like it could easily have come out in the the days of Mournful Cries and Born Too Late!! Wino is back and sounding as good as always. Chandler's guitars are enough to make your ribs hurt. This is vintage Vitus!!! If you are a fan of the old days, you owe it to yourself to get this album!!!I got the vinyl, it comes with a card to get the 320Kbps .mp3 from a website. well worth it!

Fine return
Great album indeed! Typical old school Saint Vitus with a good production-not over-produced. Close to anything they've released between Born too late and V.For those who aren't familiar with Saint Vitus at all, keep in mind these guys were probably the firsts-with Witchfinder General-to play some Heavy/doom/Sabbath heavy metal in the early 80's. Those guys might have been considered Sabbath clones (clowns?) back then, where today everybody and their uncle seems to pump ideas from the Sabbath well and is considered a genius when updating Black sabbath-like riffs in all of the new sub-genres (doom, sludge, stoner,...).Great stuff indeed, although 7 tracks is a bit short (about 30 minutes+ 3 minutes of feedback), therefor only 4 stars.

Astonishingly good. Epic doom.
Astonishingly good. Epic doom metal. I want it to last longer (an hour would be nice) but the DVD helps compensate.I love Saint Vitus' music but this production has reached a new level. Wow! Very highly recommeded to fans of epic doom.A new classic.

Journey into a dark,dark place.
Yes!!! At last. A new Vitus album and more stinking heaviness to make my ears bleed for the next 20 years. This album is so thick and heavy with despair it makes other doom bands sound like Westlife. Hard to take all in on the first listen but like many great albums this is a grower. Fantastic stuff from Dave, Wino, Mark and Vasquez!!!
