Amazing - can't recommend it enough!
I was sceptical about this, as I like to understand why things work. However, I practiced it as recommended, and also went on a weekend course. When it came to labour, I was in early labour for a very long time (5 weeks!) Using the techniques learnt from this set I kept calm, and when it eventually moved to active labour I remained very calm and managed each contraction as it came without really thinking about it. Possibly did it a bit too well as I arrived at the hospital at 9.5cm and the midwife couldn't believe it for my first child! Less than two hours later my daughter was born, with only this hypnotherapy as pain relief. Absolutely brilliant, would recommend it to all pregnant people.

Amazing
I had my first baby 2 weeks ago with no pain-relief. Like most first time mums I was terrified about the birth so decided to try hypnobirthing as a way to feel I had more control over the event. I was a bit slack about doing the CD relaxations so I was worried it wouldn't have worked properly but it actually worked a bit too well as I almost gave birth at home as I didn't realise I was so far into labour as I thought the pain wasn't strong enough. It was only when I felt the urge to push did I go to hospital and was told I was 9cm dilated. I am not someone who deals with pain very well, I think I'm dying if I get leg cramps at night and I attribute the lack of pain solely to the hypnobirthing. At one point near the end I did the 45 min CD and felt no contractions whatsoever. My only complaint is that CDs are fantastic for the contraction part of labour, absolutely brilliant, BUT you need a totally different mindset for the 2nd (pushing) stage of labour, which needs you to be much more aggressive and active. I wasn't prepared for the sudden switch in mindset and this threw me a bit. I wouldn't rely on hypnobirthing to help you through that 2nd stage and maybe look into breathing techniques as well. Good luck!

Empowers you
I don’t normally write reviews but felt had to with this one. They help you to empower yourself snd believe that your body was designed for labour which it is, keep you calm and whenever i had a doubt eg someone told me their birth story that day, I’d make sure I’d listen to the cd that day and it honestly took any fear away. It honestly got me through my first labour. I labour quickly and so was very intense as dilated 3x average speed. Like you i read the reviews online and saw that people laboured quite far dilated at home….never thinking I’d be one of them. I honestly think keeping calm and listening to this step 3 cd during labour helped me progress my labour, i went to the hospital initially as barely 1cm then returned at a shocking 8cm, i did this at home with no pain relief. This isn’t to say there was no pain it was truly awful but the cds gave me something to focus my mind on and keep me calm. I’m doing it again second time round. Whether you choose to get these cds or not just remember you’ve got this! If you do buy them I really recommend buying the effective birth preparation book too as it explains everything and is really good. They are worth every penny.

This is a fantastic set of CDs
This is a fantastic set of CDs. I bought it at around week 28 of my pregnancy, so would have been better to buy in the first trimester. Listening to the first CD was incredibly relaxing and after a few listens I could remermber to use some of the relaxation tools during moments of stress at work, driving etc... Recently moved onto the second CD after 32 weeks and its also excellent. Her voice is very calming and I think I often do fall asleep for parts of it, but apparently that's OK. I feel it is really making me to let go of stress and tension which will help a lot when I'm in labour. I would recommend these CDs on the basis they help you to relax which is so important in pregnancy. When I've had my baby I'll give an update on how they worked for me in labour.

I would definitely recommend these CDs
I would definitely recommend these CDs, I bought the Labour Companion and the Natal Hypnotherapy Programme, because they compliment each other really well. If you were only getting one, you could make do with just the Natal Hypnotherapy Programme, but I'm glad I bought both because they really helped me.There's no clever tricks- the CDs just build your confidence, remind you that your body can do this, and help you ignore negative stories about birth and stay focused on yourself and your baby. Can't imagine my pregnancy or having my baby without them now.

Important tracks missing from CDs
The CD's do not appear to be originals and are copies with very poor quality CD case covers. The main CD that I need to work and follow 'Effective birth preparation (Hospital/Birth Centre)' is supposed to have three tracks but the CD only has one and is missing the introduction track and the relaxation session. Not very happy and wish I had known about the natal-hypnotherapy website so I could buy their official CDs which probably have all the full tracks.

Awesome programme.
I think every pregnant lady should try this hypnotherapy programme. It is so unbelievably calming' any worries or anxieties about giving birth seem to have disappeared. It helps me to sleep and to relax, leading to a lot healthier mummy to be! I intend to play the music at the birth, and use it after too. Apparently playing the music to your new baby helps to calm them as they relate it to being in the womb, amazing.
