A story that clearly makes his readers believe that we can truly make sweet lemonade from sour lemons.The spiritual awakening encourages believers and skeptics to understand the power of God within all of us. The hope and heart of that is displayed in the final pages. I was inspired by his life, family, heart and faith and today even more inspired by the goodwill that he provides to a needed community as a result of his life story.A must read,Angie Nickell

Great book on a true story of an incredible person and a great friend

While reading Joe's book, Pentecostals, Pokeberries and Possum Stew, all I could think of is just how close it was to my own young life. I felt ever emotion possible....i.e, sad, happy, sorrow, emotional tears, love, and understanding throughout my reading. I could just picture this darling little boy with his right eye and the insecurities that he must have felt. Although, his toughness help him get through it all. I felt so close to Joe while reading and knowing the parallels between our lives and will always consider him my Mills Home brother. Great job in putting your memories together, Joe.

The book was heartwarming, captivating I recommend it to anyone, I cried..... Just a must read !!!!!!! I read it all without stopping
