This book is fine and lives up to the reputation of Pathfinder Guides - except in one respect. We've been walkers in the UK and Europe since 1975 and we're fit and active seniors. However, Walk No 3 in this book is probably the worst walk we've ever encountered. There are a few limited sections which are attractive but for the majority of the walk along the River Usk the walking underfoot is dangerous. It's rocky, uneven and full of tree roots. We walked it on a dry day but, if the rocks were wet, it would be catastrophic. The description of the walk warns of the slippery rocks if wet but they're dangerous when dry. We spent over an hour looking at our feet constantly, and this detracted from the walk enormously. This walk should never have been included in the Guide.

We have a few of these now and always find that on the whole they are good. Few moments of confusion with some of the walks and one we managed to do backwards as we missed the gate.

I'm very impressed with this guide book. In my opinion is the best on the market. The routes are described clearly with a bit of history in the backround. Also maps printed in the guide are very helpful for finding alternative parking/starting point. I would recommend for everyone who loves walking.

We used this in our first real walking holiday in the Brecons. Excellent routes with easy to follow maps and instructions. Can't fault it really.

I love this book it’s fantastic. The detail and instructions are fantastic! I’m quite an amateur hiker so this is perfect for me! I have done loads of routes from it! I also have this book for the lakes, ex moor and the Peak District
