Too early to tell reliability, but fit perfect on 94 Caprice
Too early to know. Old pump was seeping and wiped out the optispark. Also runs cooler now, so pump(or new t-stat) appear to operate more efficiently. Note this is an IMPORTED pump(Asian), assumed Gates would be at least assembled here. Would be willing to spend considerably more had it been made here since i do believe you get what you pay for. As others stated, does not come with the temperature sensor, I never had a pump that did. Would be better if it came with the water outlet & t-stat since they are part of this pump once installed on engine. This is a weekend warrior for me so I also put a cheapo Opti on it(from local mail order guy in NJ who warantees them for 3 years) . Last one lasted 4-5 years. Bottom line this is a 4 star for occasional use, but for a daily driver, I would go for a pump at least assembled in US. Dur@l@st pumps are assembled here in many cases, just picked up one for my 97 Z71 P/U.(QC sometimes does not even exist overseas. The US based assembler will at least typically run functional tests on them)

UPDATE 12/29/2020:*A year later and it's starting to weep oil! For the price, it's worth buying again. Wouldn't pay anymore than that. All parts eventually fail.*I received this in orderly fashion. Same day! Can't beat that with a bat and MC Hammer with a hammer can't touch that!!Its the same as my original. I haven't installed it yet, but plan on doing it Sunday. It's actually BRAND NEW. Everything is in tact with gaskets and o-ring. Will update after installing and will also update the longevity.. 1994 Buick Roadmaster with LT1 engine

Worked for me on 1994 Caprice.
Fit my 1994 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with the L99 4.3L V8(LT1 family engine). Came with the gaskets to mount to the block and the hoses, t-stat/housing, and temp sensor fit as they should. The alignment holes fit on the pegs on the block and the splined pump shaft fit the collar on the end of the distributor as it should.

Not exactly as the original water pump.
This pump is not an exact fit for the LT1 engine, the tubes for the heater hose are a lot closer to the engine than on the original pump (they made the SS tubes on the pump shorter). The upper heater hose ends up being about 1/8" from the power steering pump pulley, so if you ever have to remove the ps pump pulley the water pump has to be removed also.

Great product / price / fast shipping
Flush system and heater core with old pump in place. Drill out flow control valve in heater core line with 1/2 " drill and pull out spring ( if you have one ) . Reverse heater core hoses on water pump and drive for a day if possible with heat on to backflush heater core . What destroys these pumps is the pellets GM added at the factory and the in inability to completely drain the reverse flow engine block . Flush flush flush until water is clear before installing new pump . Use green coolant , dont forget 3 qts of water in block when mixing coolant . Do not add pellets.
