Excellent product and service
I bought this product in late Dec '17 after I received an Echo for a Christmas gift. The battery lasts all day and makes the Echo neat, uncluttered and portable. A couple weeks ago, the battery no longer charged. I contacted the seller who determined it was the charging cable. A replacement was immediately shipped to me at no cost. All is good.Great product and great service - what more can you ask?

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED WITH GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!!
**UPDATE 04/30/18**I have been busy and have neglected to update my review. On 04/23 I received a replacement battery. I followed the instructions they gave me in the phone call which were not greatly different from the instructions. The basic difference is that they suggested that I turn the Echo upside down and firmly press the adhesive plate to the bottom of the Echo. I let the adhesive do it's jeb for 48 hours before putting it on the base. I can say that the plate did not pull off the bottom of the Echo, the magnet is plenty strong enough to hold the Echo to the base. The battery works perfectly, but that was never an issue with the old battery either. In the end, I have revised my review to five stars and give my wholehearted recommendation to the MegaBoot, and to the excellent service that I received from them. I don't feel that you can go wrong with this product!=========================================================================================================**UPDATE 04/18/18**I spoke to customer support about my issue with the magnet plate. It seems that some early shipment had walls on the base that were a little to tall for the regular Echo. So the magnet was not in direct contact with the plate on the Echo. It continually exerts a pull on the plate and eventually pulls it across the gap. This was confirmed when I sent them a photo. The solution is that they are going to send me a new replacement. The rep I spoke to was very knowledgeable of product and how it is meant to work. A pleasure to speak with! In anticipation of receiving the new battery, I am raising my review to 4 stars. If the new battery base works as well as they say it will, I will happily increase it to 5 stars. Stay tuned!!!=========================================================================================================I am a bit disappointed in the MegaBoot for the Echo 2nd Generation.Pros:It does provide a good battery backup to the Echo.Cons:The metal disc supplied for the magnetic connection to the base refuses to remain attached to the base of the Echo. I cleaned the base with an alcohol wipe to make sure it was clean, and left the plate attached for better than 48 hours prior to putting it on the battery base. Within 24 hours the magnet in the base had pulled the plate off the Echo rendering the magnetic attachment useless. The battery base itself has no soft pads or felt on it to protect furniture surfaces. While I have not seen any scratches yet, it is of concern.Very pricey compared to other solutions. The price might be justified if the magnetic attachment worked as advertised. Conclusion:Hard to recommend this. While the battery function does work, this alone makes it unattractive at this price point.

Doesn't work
This is the second one they sent me and it doesn't charge up my alexa. This time the metal piece that is on the megaboot stuck to my alexa metal piece and ripped it right off my alexa!!

Not bad for being first to market.
I took a chance and ordered this product before there were any reviews, here are my thoughts:The Good: - Small footprint compared to the Battery/Speaker bases for the Dot - Easy to install - Battery lasts longer than I will ever need. The Not So Good: - No battery life indicator - The metal disc can cause the Echo to slide around on some surfaces - Cost as much as my EchoWhat I would really like to see: - A battery that is incorporated into the removable shell of the Echo - A charging base similar to the TapWhat I would really REALLY like to see: - Alexa incorporated into the Bose SoundLink Revolve series speakers.Installing - Was no problem. There is a magnet on the top of the unit and a metal disc with adhesive on one site to attach to your 2nd Gen Echo, cleaned the bottom of my Echo with some isopropyl alcohol and installed it per the included instructions. You don't need to worry too much about alignment as you can slide the Echo around on the magnet to get the perfect positioning. I then promptly dropped tested it by knocking my Echo off of the table and it separated from the metal disc, reinstalled it, waited 24 hours and I was able to remove the Echo from the battery with the disc still attached. I did not give it another drop test.Looks - Not bad, it is the same diameter as the Echo and (obviously) raised its height which lead to my unexpected drop test.Battery life - I haven't verified their claim of 24 hours with my Echo but I streamed for a good 10 hours at a volume of 5 with no issues.

Poor adhesive
The product works, in that it runs the Echo by battery. Great. Except the magnetic base connector never sticks to the Echo, so I basically just have a battery with a really short cord and I have to keep it under my Echo all the time. This would be an excelent product if the cord were longer or if the battery stuck to the Echo as designed. I've had mine for more than a year and I hate having to carry them line this

Maybe a bit expensive, but worth the money.
There are many batteries available for the Echo first generation, but few for the second generation. I bought this so I could take my Echo to our outside screen room. I'm very happy with the battery life and have used it for hours without having to recharge. I feel that while a bit pricey, it's a good value and addition for my Echo second generation. The only things on my wish list would be to have an on/off switch and some sort of charge indicator. Since you can't turn off an Echo device, if you leave the battery connected to the Echo and not plugged into the charger, the battery will discharge. I like the charger that is supplied with the Megaboot because it has a charge indicator light. Red when charging, green when charged.
