Silverline 637457 Long-Handled Lawn Shears 1075 mm

Sharp and precise cuts at the right angle @5ft 9" tall user.

These shears were next to useless. The angle to the lawn is way too low. I have to bend to get them near to the grass, which was why I bought them in the first place! But my main criticism is that the blades are so blunt they they fold grass instead of cutting it. I only have a small lawn with a small border to trim...a pair of scissors is more effective. I know you get what you pay for but I am VERY disappointed with this purchase!

There are two brands of tools, whether for the home or garden, that I try to avoid and Silverline happens to be one. I have either returned or disposed of several of their products as they are often of very low quality although many seem to include the word 'Professional' in their description, which this does not.As this is a tool that is not going to be often used, gardening is neither an interest or a personal strength, it was not thought necessary to pay for a better tool.The handles are oval, which should in theory make them stronger, and the blades appear to be of hardened steel. However, based upon others of their products, the version of hardened steel they use is not hard, and easily bent or damaged at the working end. However there is no rubber stop or other device to reduce the impact of the blades being closed with some force, which is sometimes necessary if woody weeds happen to exist. For grass alone, they should be fine.On the plus side, they will prevent excessive bending and may be adequate for a few years if not over-used.

These clippers are easy to use. I have been able to cut the grass close to walls and borders.It seems sturdy and is a nice length.

They did not cut the grass. It folds. The angle is also not a right angle so you do have to stoop. Overall of you're looking for a way to cut the edges of your lawn, or any grass at all, get something else. I went for a fiskar lawn shears and they're great but rather pricey (double what this cost)
