Peel & Sketch Charcoal Pencils 3/Pkg-

3 charcoal pencils, lasts almost forever. Be careful about the string, as it might peel the pencils wrong and make the whole process off peeling the charcoal dreadful.

These are sensational! Great bang for the buck. Just pull the string, unwind the pencil to expose a uniform sketch tool! Take them anywhere, no fuss, no sharpeners, no sanding the ends, just a great sketch tool!

I've recently started taking a basic drawing classes at the local community college. I found these charcoal pencils to be perfect for my needs. They sharpen to a nice point and the three different grades of hardness give a nice variety of shade value. The charcoal blends nicely and is easy to use an eraser as a drawing tool on the charcoal.I've attached my first drawing using charcoal and these pencils made it easier than I expected.

I want to say in giving these four stars because they're a good product, even though two of the pencils I can't use anymore. These pencils CANNOT be dropped, the charcoal will shatter and as you peel them charcoal will come off in pieces. I'm still giving this a good review because it's a good product, and the "no dropping" thing is VERY common in charcoal products- I only mention it for anyone who isn't aware and purchasing these for the first time.The only reason I didn't give these five stars is because they are advertised as three different hardnesses/softnesses, which they do not seem to be. They all seem to be the same hardness to me, or at least the difference is small enough it doesn't make a difference.These are good pencils, and any issues I've had with them shattering have been purely user error.

I use these for watercolors. I actually enhance them for my paintings, not all, but some.

Sketching is different experience

I have not actually used these yet. I love working with Charcoal and look forward to using them

These pencils work great for what I need them for. For some reason these pencils are hard to find. Or I just have bad luck. They work fine, but peeling the paper off takes a few minutes and more concentration than you'd expect. I am also unclear as to the hardness/softness of these pencils. I needed a medium pencil. I think the package says it contains one hard, one soft, and one extra soft, but the pencils themselves lack the information. My art teacher said I needed them, so I got them. I am wondering if there is a better brand out there.

Opened the package and it has 2 medium and 1 soft pencil. Hard one is missing. Not eligible for return. :(
