HWC Basketweave Leather Covered Memo Book Holder

I compared a lot of note pad covers and initially purchaseda different note pad cover with a pen holder sewn into the cover.It was nice but it was just way too big for a 3x5 note pad. Which iswhat I carry and prefer. After still more comparing I chose this note pad holderand I’m glad I did, because based on the reviews I thought that this note pad holderwas going to be just ok quality and I was ready for it to have a bad smell which is what somereviews said. I usually do not buy products that have ok quality and smell, but in this case Iwas willing to take that chance because I Really Needed a Cover for my note pad and I don’t really like any of the other covers that I saw.However, when I received this product the quality was great.PROS.The outside leather is very nice quality. The leather is thick and solid but not too thick. The weave pattern is crisp.The leather used for the inside card holder is also high grade. The suede on the inside is soft andwell shaved. The note pads fit perfectly in the leather holder not tight, not lose, perfect. I bought two,5 packs of staples note pads. Which are cheaper then the 10 pack, and they work well with this cover.CONSThere is no pen holder! Not quite a dealbreaker for me but in my opinion this thing would be near perfect if it had a pen holder. While its true that you can buy a stick-on pen holder on amazon. I haven’t decided if I’m going to go that route yet, they cost around $7 for a pack of 5 and I don’t want to pay $7 when I can just put a rubber band around the note pad case and have an instant pen holder. I don’t really want to put a rubber band around my note pad cover, but I just might. Like I said not a dealbreaker for me.The stitching is not 100% perfect, you can see a frayed stich here and there, but I’m ok with that because the stitching that runs around the edges to give it strength and the stitching that holds the note pad strap and inside card holder to the cover is solid and I would expect it to hold up to many years of daily use as other reviews have already attested to. In any event, I’m really pleasantly surprised the over all quality, delivery was fast and i'm very happy with this purchase. Great note pad holder.

Purchased two of these (because I lost one...then found it at the bottom of the washing machine (it survived!)). I use them to hold a regular sized 3 x 5" Memo book, in which I use a page a day at the front for my To Do lists and reminders/appointments, then I can flip the whole thing over and start at the back for shopping lists. One memo book lasts me around 4-6 weeks when used in this way and keeps me on track with day to day chores and things to do. Every night before bed, I go through the days To Do list and transfer any that I did not get done to the following day, then I tear off the old days page and throw it away...clearing my mind for sleep, knowing that this day is done, and tomorrow is a new day...all organised and nothing left to worry about or try to remember during the night. I draw small boxes on the left hand side of each 'To Do' that I can check off throughout the day. It is small enough to fit in my pocket, or in a pocket in my purse, and having my shopping list on the back means that I don't lose my list before I get to the store...anything that I cannot find simply gets transferred to the next shopping list page ready for next time. Well made, stylish...even survives the laundry (although the actual memo book didn't!)

To start- The product is as definitely as described, so no falsified description. I will summarize this review in a "pro" & "con" type of format.PROS- As simple as this product is, the stitching seems and looks well sewn and the basketweave texture is attractive; seemingly similar to that of police department usage. The internal leather inserts that hold the memo pad in place are strong and durable. This cover will definitely last for the price. In looking at other reviews, that this product held a rather bad smell for some. Mine smelt like everything like real leather. Granted some can have a more unlikely smell to them if they are not stored properly or taken care of.CONS- As described by other reviews, the memo pad does not exactly fit right out of the package. Please remember, this is leather, so be patient. It would be recommended to stretch the leather out will a more sturdy piece of material in order to provide room for the real memo pad. The only downfall (therefore not providing "5" stars) would be the overall price. If $5 could have been knocked off in base price or shipping, this would have been a 5-star transaction, but if this product is exactly what your looking for; what's five dollars!IMPORTANT- This memo pad cover fits standard "Mead" pads (Wal-Mart,Shopko,Office Max) of 3 in. by 5 in./7.6cm by 12.7 cm. Of all the research I did on these covers, that most were lacking a more robust description that related to exact dimension or typical pads one's would use.**Please see the pics provided and i hope they help out more so for any future business.

The item arrived as described, It's made of thin yet sturdy and pliable leather that feels good in the hand, I like the basket weave pattern which reduces slipping in the hand.. would definitely buy another one!

Seems to be made really well

I hardly write reviews but I find this notepad cover to be a great budget option for taking notes on the fly. I work in an office full of projects and meetings and this is ideal for jotting quick ideas as opposed to lugging a full sized legal pad. I also has a small pocket for business cards so that’s a big plus for me.
