Dark romance with great humour
This is one of the best dark romance books I have read in 2023. Both FMC & MMC are beautifully written. Specially how their relationship goes from strangers to friends to lovers. The spicy scenes are great and the banter is 🙌🏻. Can’t wait for book 2 in June!

This edition is stunning and looks just like in the pictures. I haven't read it yet, but when I received the book I had to let you know how great looking it is. The edges have a metallic look to them which I feel is very unique when the sprayed edges are only of one color with no design. The design in the hardcover is simple but beautiful, on the front, back and side. And special mention to the design of the dust jacket which might be my favorite one I have seen from the books I have, definitely worthy of a collector's edition book and it was a fun way to give the trigger warnings. On the negative side, my book did arrive with some minor details. Some tiny damage of the jacket and a couple of the pages were bent on the bottom. This is really not a big issue for me, but thought I would mention it and let you know that it does not arrive with any sort of protection. It's only the book in a box.

I have to say, I thought I would like this more than I did. Maybe I am just in a weird book funk? Told from both POV, this book has a lot of elements that I usually enjoy…morally grey characters, humor, spice and love. I just never felt like I really connected with either character. Like the MMC, who is described as goofy and insecure, yet also dominate and possessive…they didn’t match up. The length of time it took (book length and time span) was too long with no real explanation of what happened in between. The FMC was so skittish, yet neither character communicated. Too much like real life for my fiction at the moment. I’m not going to continue with the trilogy right now. I may try again later.
