Flavius Josephus eben ;)

Josephus
Reason for getting this was I always see quotations from this book and many times they are taken out of context. Now I can read them for myself and see the rest of the written texts.

Educate yourself and love it.
Without question or controversy, only the Word of God, the Bible, is indispensable for the Christian. But Josephus can provide helpful and fascinating historical context and detail. If a movie were ever to be made of this book that provides a CNN style eye-witness account of the campaign of the Roman Legions and sortie-by-sortie, almost retaliatory blow-by-blow of the Jewish defenders of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 A.D., it would be a block buster film. It would undoubtedly gross enormous profits. But that will never happen because the film industry is and has been dominated by Jews and Jews consider Flavius Josephus a traitor. But, if Josephus is a traitor to his Jewish brethren, so are all the Prophets in the Tanakh, the Hebrew Bible. Israel killed all her Prophets that warned of willful habitual sin and pronounced God's judgement on His rebellious people. Like him or not, Josephus is authoritative, a devout pharisee, a Jewish General, a scholar and historian. Perhaps, most importantly HE WAS THERE and reported the historical Biblical event, a watershed in world history. But, Josephus has much more to offer the reader than just The Wars of the Jews. His account of the beliefs, customs and history of the seed of Abraham is accurate and richly descriptive. This is a historical narrative that will likely capture your soul and the theater of your mind's imagination while not neglecting the intellect. It's a treasure.
