M.2 Modified Board 2230 to 2280mm NVME MKey Modification PCB Circuit Board Compatible with ROG Ally Handheld Game Console (4layer Pcie4 Long)

This is pretty easy to install in your rog ally I went with a 1tb hard drive and was able to upgrade forabout 65 bucks total far less than for a 2230 drive that's in the ally. Only thing I did was put a bit of tape where it makes contact with the conector.

It work fine but as some buyers said you have to insulate the back of mounting scrow to avoid short with the battary circuit

Works

The Bad:- Possible fire hazard from included screw, which is too long, shorting on battery connector (see photos). I used a small washer on top and a small square of white gaffer's tape on the bottom of the adapter board.- The drive assembly doesn't sit flat because of the battery power cable. The final assembly appears to be under some stress; hopefully not enough to cause issues over the long term.- I had to remove the battery to install which requires the removal of a warranty sticker over a screw.- The adapter board is shipped with loose screws scratching against the board during shipping.The Good:- It allows for the installation of a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB or other similar large and fast drive. 8 times the stock storage size and considerably faster. 2TB appears to be the current limit for the smaller nvme drives supported without the adapter.- They are shipping a recent V5 version of the board.- I was able to get it shipped quickly with Amazon Prime. All the options I could find on eBay were shipping from China.I was originally going to give it three stars because the fire hazard they are creating by shipping a screw that can short onto the battery connector is a pretty big deal. However it's fairly easily remedied and this is a unique solution that I'm thankful is being provided.
