The Safariland Model 5198 holster is lightweight, with low-cut sides allowing for an easy draw, and an open-top designed for defensive pistol competition. The holster is also well suited for concealed carry due to its compact size. A trigger guard detent and adjustable tension device secure the gun in the holster during rigorous activity for reliable carry retention. Durable thermoformed SafariLaminate construction makes this holster tough enough for constant wear, and the STX finish keeps it looking good through years of use. The 5198 comes with both injection-molded paddle and belt loop, so you can attach and adjust carry for comfort and to match your needs. The Model 5198 open-top concealment holster is IDPA and USPSA approved.

Safariland holsters have served me very well. My SP-01 fits perfectly and with good retention. The paddle and belt attachments both being provided gives you a great range when adjusting to individual preference. (The belt attachment has 3 cant adjustments but the paddle has no cant adjustment) This is my first Open Top holster from Safariland and I was a little hesitant since I have used their ALS models for my other handguns and loved the locking system. While the Open Top only has the passive retention feature using tension and pressure around the trigger guard, I found it to still provide me plenty of confidence the my CZ will stay put until it is deliberately drawn. My favorite aspect of this holster (in comparison to my ALS models) is how it sits on the hip. The Open Top keeps the CZ tucked in high and tight, which is going to be great during the fall and winter for carrying under jackets and coats. If you're a left handed shooter looking for a quality holster that doesn't break the bank and is actually made to FIT the CZ 75 SP-01, I highly suggest Safariland.

This is original high quality. Nice price point buy this one
Great holster fits my CZ75 SP-01 tactical. Honestly, there are not too many bargain options for this CZ75. This is a genuine SafariLand holster at nearly half the price. I would take away a half star as the washer on the retention nut does rattle when you pick it up. However, you won’t hear it when wearing it but you know it rattles because it’s loose but the retention is strong so not to worry. A quick fix is to put some silicone or add a rubber washer instead of the metal one so it won’t rattle. Not a deal killer for me because getting a solid polymer holster for under $30 I think is a bargain. This is considered to be used as a competition belt loop holster that also features a paddle option for daily carry. Note that the paddle doesn’t offer a canting position, only the belt loop option does. Yes, this holster has a partial leather lining so as not to scratch your toy. See pics

Not for FNS-9C
Don’t be fooled. This holster does not properly fit the FNS-9c (compact). I’m a bit of a holster snob but I think anyone would agree that a good holster is a must when carrying ever single day. This holster was designed for a full size FN9. The full size has a larger trigger guard so when you insert a compact the trigger guard does not make contact with the mechanism inside the holster. There is also a small amount of space where the slide and barrel should make contact with the very bottom of the holster on the inside. The FNS-9c does not make contact with the bottom of the holster. The holster I received was a warehouse deal so I’m not extremely displeased with the quality. I do however understand why it was returned and resold as a warehouse deal, because my particular holster show signs of poor molding. In conclusion, the majority of the time Safariland produces very good products. This holster was simply misrepresented In what size firearm it could properly accommodate and had poor craftsmanship or quality control.

Good holster for a LC9S lefty
Works as described. Holds my Lc9 securely. I wear it around 8-9 o'clock on the waist for a lefty. The pistol rides high on the belt and is forward canted a little more than I like. Not a big issue. Had to add some rubber washers on the trigger gaurd screw inside the holster to stop annoying plastic rattle. Good quality holster and very secure on the belt. No major complaints but I tend to use my leather holster more often.

Does NOT fit gen 5 g34 due to the ambi slide stop! It fits otherwise, after cutting the holster slightly.

Simple but effective
- The XDS goes in with a satisfying click, but comes out easily when pulled.- The paddle is curved, fitting my hip from 5:30 to 9:00- Lip catches under belt, to prevent whole holster draw.- Slight forward cant, for easy grip- Gun rides high, so less likely to show below cover garment.- Gun sits tight to body, as concealable as OWB can be.I don't like to carry this way. But I think this holster is perfect for IDPA training.

My search for the perfect holster is over.
Of the half dozen or so holsters that I've purchased, this Safariland holster is by far the best. It holds my LC9s very securely, discretely and comfortably. The paddle is slightly curved which keeps the holster very comfortably positioned outside my waistband. The holster has a thin felt-like lining to protect the gun's finish. What I like most about this holster is that it holds the gun high and tight to the body with no flopping around. The gun is held very firmly, yet drawing and reholstering is quick and precise. This holster and the LC9s are an outstanding combination for concealed carry.

Read carefully
Guess I should have read more carefully. The photo shows a right handed holster but the listing is for a left handed holster. Guess I will just have to eat the cost and find a left handed friend to give it to.
