Sem Products Clear Plastic Prep Aerosol

I bought this along with other SEM products to refinish my door panels on my truck. My panels are vinyl AND plastic, so I purchased this for the plastic parts and the vinyl prep for the vinyl parts. What I found was that both products were unnecessary purchases. When I saw they were both basically "cleaners," I took an alternate route and simply washed my panels thoroughly with dish soap, hot water and a scotchbrite pad, rinsed them completely, allowed them to dry, and wiped them down with rubbing alcohol. Don't get me wrong, I was very thorough in what I did, but the end result was perfect without the use of any SEM cleaners. After all, the adhesion comes from how well you clean and prep the surfaces, while the flexibility is in the paint. It's just my opinion, but for the cost of the products, I think it's a waste of money when a much less expensive alternative is available.

So I decided to do the hard job of redoing my interior trim. Dash panels etc. Called and spoke to Steve and David technical support of SEM (866) 327-7829 and simply asked if it was possible for me to do the job and have a professional outcome. They assured me it would look great and guided me thru the steps. 1. clean with soap and scuff pad, use the proper SEM cleaner, 2 coats of adhesive and 3 light coats of color, The result was like factory new dashboard. This top of the line products and 10+ support, I must have called them 20 times. Call them as much as you need they will do everything possible to help you. Great company.

I used the SEM line of products to repaint my F-150 interior pieces. I took my time and properly prepped and cleaned the parts. It turned out great! Take your time, don't rush. Many helpful videos on SEM website and YouTube to assist.

I am dying an old leather interior from red to black. This prep seems to be doing a really good job as my work has really turned out well.

Great stuff. It removed the grease and grime from a plastic air box on my project vehicle without damaging the plastic like some solvents can do.
