I used it then went skiing to test it. Can't say i noticed any difference. My legs got tired quick so i think it wasn't a very good edge. I tried a different angle then went skiing again. Again i couldn't tell much difference. I rented skis but preferred my old ones but after using this edge sharpener on my old skis i much prefer the rentals over the old ones. I alternated my skis back and forth on the same day on same runs for comparison. Maybe i don't know what I'm doing but the instructions leave alot to be desired.

I was really pleased with the results I got with this in just a few minutes of work. My ski edges have never been in better shape.

I take this along in my “travel tuneup bag” and it works well for quick touch ups.

Used a lot of different edge tools over the years. I love this one the most. The single piece construction is solid, there is no flex in the tool or slipping of the file. It is big enough that I don’t have to focus on making sure it doesn’t lose contact when I make fast passes down the ski. I use it in my home shop and I take it in my ski pack. The cost to quality makes this the best value out there.

Makes the edges sharp ... we're not Olympians or pro athletes, don't need ski edges we could shave with, just wanted to touch up five or six pairs of skis to start the season without paying $60 apiece for a full tuneup and this gizmo was a pretty good answer.

The media could not be loaded.  The file holder is too flexible and allows the file to sway by at least a full degree. If you push harder you’ll get a larger angle than you selected. If you don’t care about a precise angle and just want to sharpen, this should work well. The file itself seems pretty stout.

I was amazed how well this item worked. The file cut and smooth the ski edge quickly with minimal effort.

The file is so loose in this guide, it just flexes back when contacting the edge. No way it holds any kind of angle (probably 5 or 10 degrees off). I would recommend buying something better or not trying to tune your edges at all. Good luck!
