Pleasantly surprised!
Great sealant. Watch the YouTube for tips on applying the product. This company makes different types of sealants which I will try out in the future thanks to the ease and beauty of this product.

Still looks GREAT after 3 years
I used ProtectaClear on a brassy bathroom sink that gave me fits with its tendency to tarnish and stain. Cleaning it was living H__. Regular brass/copper/silver polishes wouldn't get it done. I'm ex-military, so I've had lots of practice. The only thing that would clean it up was applying a heavy-duty abrasive, which basically resurfaced it. My bathroom has two identical sinks. On one, I used Sink Wax; on the other, I used ProtectaClear. The wax was a lot better than nothing, but over time, it gave out, and that sink got new, ugly stains all over it. The wax might have worked if I had cleaned that sink and reapplied the wax every few months, but I have a life outside of sink cleaning. The picture shows the ProtectaClear sink after 3 years. It looks exactly like it did the day I applied ProtectaClear. I did go the extra mile on it. I followed the instructions to the letter. I did all the prep. I applied 3 coats. I was careful not to drop anything into the sink to avoid nicking or scratching. I kept a hand towel beside the sink. Every time I used the sink, I wiped it dry. That probably wouldn't be necessary in most cases, but my water is very hard and leaves spots on anything and everything when it dries. ProtectaClear repels water, so a half-second swipe with the towel was all it took. Maybe I didn't need to dry it, but I wasn't taking any chances. The smeared look of the sink surface is the result of having to clean it with abrasives. The ProtectaClear didn't cause that.I just spent two hours cleaning the other sink. (That's par for the course.) I'm about to apply ProtectaClear to it.I strongly recommend NOT buying metal sinks. If you get stuck with one, this is the best solution I've found.

THIS WORKS!
I got a copper kitchen sink in May 2022, and love it. However, it tarnished very quickly because of the heavy use. I tried all kinds of products (Brasso, Never Dull wadding polish, copper polish sold by the sink maker, and more - including ketchup, which works!) They all got it clean, but it wouldn't stay clean. So then I tried all kinds of waxes and sealants - nothing worked. I was about to give up when I found ProtectaClear. I sealed my sink a month ago and it still looks like a brand-new sink. If you know copper, you know this is a miracle.

Love this product!
A little goes a long way, but I have a lot of jewelry to dip as I make it to sell at art events. I would suggest getting the 12 spray can for anything with chains, though. When dipping chains it gets them all gummed up and ruins them. Also be sure to use a paint brush to sop up the extra liquid from holes so they don't film over. It's really hard to remove after it dries, lol.

Mostly does what it claims.
Used this product to seal the metal on a 100+ year old brass bed that took MANY hours to clean and polish. Directions state you can use a sponge brush or natural bristle brush to apply it. I found the natural bristle brush to be far better (disposable ones from Home Depot) as they do not produce air bubbles as does the sponge brush. Do be diligent in your removal of whatever polish (I used Maas) you choose. I found denatured alcohol worked well. This product goes on well and does self level. It also does self anneal as claimed. The reason for deducting one star is that it does dull the shiny brass glow somewhat that the polishing produces. This is not a deal killer for me, as I really don't want to have to repeat this process in the future! I cannot comment on the longevity of the finish, as the project has just been completed.Update 3/2023 - it has been 5 years since my initial review. I'm pleased to say that the sealed brass still looks just as good as it did after the initial application. I have also restored and sealed two brass oil lamps with this product and have seen the same great results.

Good Cover
I needed something to cover aluminum bar on top of textiles. After handling the bar would turn black and come off on the material. After applying ProtectaClear, no more residue. Great product.

Seals metals and stops oxidation
I make coin rings and other coin-centric jewelry. And, if you’ve ever worn copper, you’re likely aware of the green residue around your copper adorned skin. This product is an excellent way to protect against corrosion and stops residue from getting on your skin. As a skin safe sealant, you’ll enjoy your copper jewelry for years and years. I usually apply two coats- waiting an hour between coats, and waiting a couple days to ensure full curing although the items can be handled after an hour of application. The sealant can be applied other materials needing a clear protective seal against fine scratches and leaching and to maintain its original shine/patina. Final coating is not brittle and has some flexibility. See the application types and directions on the can. Use in a well-ventilated area and read the safety information. PPE recommended.
