Hybrid 50/50 is a unique mix of supreme ceramic and natural bio volcanic rocks. It provides biological filtration in any aquarium or other aquatic environment. Use in any type of filter compartment - with a massive surface area and super porosity it provides a home for all types of beneficial bacteria. Once mature the media will process waste and break it down - Ammonia is converted to nitrates by nitrifying bacteria, eventually low oxygen zones in this media will also become home to denitrifying bacteria that actually break down nitrates. Far more effective than ceramic rings / sponges / bio balls and other media types. This media can be left almost indefinitely (perhaps a rinse with tank water to remove detritus every few months and ensure optimum performance) Inert product - will not alter PH / water chemistry. Multiple Rock size upto approx 5cm thick - Ideal For larger external filters, small ponds and sumps, 1KG supplied.Amount Required: This will depend on many factors including stocking level / water change schedule etc..1KG should easily support a 300 - 450 litre system. More is better especially for nitrate reduction - Use as much as you can comfortably fit in your filter (can be used passively in the tank also for tank decoration / aquascaping, attaching plants etc.)
