Easy for those new to pour over coffee
I'm just starting to get into pour over coffee. I like that this petite set is allowing me to make a small yield without wasting a lot of coffee if it doesn't turn out as desired. It's also great to have this little set as a person who lives alone; it's just perfect for coffee for one.

Don't throw out the paper filters yet.
I was under the impression that the metal mesh would eliminate the need for a paper filter. That's what I was specifically looking for. It does not. Without a paper filter the result is basically a French press in terms of taste, oils, sediment... With the paper filter it is wonderful.

Good choice for single cup pour over
I have a pour over filter similar to this (it's this one), but it has the circular base at the bottom that allows you to place it directly on top of a mug and there's no glass component.Having the graduated glass container allows you to easily see how many milliliters of water you're pouring in. It's perfect if that's the measurement you go by. If you're adding water by weight, the markings don't mean as much because you'll be using a scale, and in that case, both this set and the other filter I linked above will work equally well. Although pouring directly into the mug without the glass does mean one less piece to clean when you're done.A gooseneck kettle will help control your pour. I experimented with different grinds and settled on a burr grinder setting that's a bit finer than the standard drip, and it gives me a perfect cup in about 3 minutes (not including the bloom). The filter is a little smaller than I expected but I never had a problem with overflow. It's easy to tap out the grinds afterwards and rinses off easily. It's really not a bad deal, I'd recommend it. The glass might be a little bit on the thin side, so we'll see how it holds up in the long term, but so far I can't complain.

Good basic pour-over coffee maker
I got this coffee maker because I like to make my coffee Turkish style and this looked like a good way to better separate the grinds before drinking. It strikes me as an interesting combination of a coffee pot and an Erlenmeyer/conical flask. The pot material appears to be borosilicate glass, which is good for this purpose. The graduations on the pot give the volume amount (up to 400) but strangely don't indicate the units (milliliters). The water fill level shown in the picture is 1 full coffee mug's worth, even though the markings on the pot show it at the 2 mug level, so for me this coffee maker is good for brewing 1 full mug of coffee at a time, or maybe 2 medium size cups. The stainless steel filter does a good job of filtering the grinds from the water (no sediment in the pot). Overall I recommend it based on good functionality.
